"Come on, Patrick. Just one?" Pete coaxed. Patrick shook his head and pushed the shot glass away. He didn't wanna get drunk tonight. Especially at a public bar.

"Trick, come on. What's the worst that could happen from one shot?" Pete asked.

"One shot turns to two, two to five, and five to a whole bottle." Patrick said. Pete pushed the glass back toward Patrick and smiled.

"Just one, I swear." Pete seemed promising, and Patrick knew he could trust him.

"Fine," Patrick sighed. Pete's smile widened and he pushed the glass closer. Patrick picked it up and drank it in one swift move, setting the glass back down. He actually liked the way it tasted, and found himself wanting more.

'No, that was one. No more,' He told himself. Patrick stared at Pete as he got another shot and drank it down, contemplating things in his head.

"Fuck it," Patrick said, taking the pitcher and pouring himself another shot. Pete smiled again and chuckled.

"Couldn't resist, Trick?" Pete said through his smirk. Patrick took his shot and set his glass back down.

"Shut up," Patrick said, feeling the blush rise to his cheeks. Pete reached over and filled Patrick's glass again, winking before filling his own. Patrick stared at it and sighed, taking it down.

"This is nice, huh, Tri-" Pete was cut off by a girl sitting next to him. Pete smirked at Patrick and turned to talk to the girl. 'You have a girlfriend, Pete.' Patrick told him silently. Patrick subconsciously took more shots, losing count and control quickly.

"One more," Patrick told himself as he poured another shot for himself. He drank it down and wanted to take another, but stopped himself before he did.

He tapped on Pete's shoulder, his friend turning around. The girl Pete was talking to also glanced at him and scanned him over, smiling at what she saw, and making Patrick blush.

"Hey, need something?" Pete asked. Patrick nodded, then shook his head. Pete looked confused for a moment. "You okay?" Patrick glanced over at the pitcher, which was almost empty. Pete glanced back too, eyes widening.

"Trick, do you wanna go home?" Pete asked softly as he helped him to sit up straight. The girl behind Pete seemed to understand a little more.

"Ah- I didn't realize you two were, uhm...." She said nervously. Pete looked back, Patrick too tired and drunk to process what she meant.

"Oh- uhm, we're not, he's just a really close friend. I just took him out for tonight, it's his birthday." Pete explained, blushing. The girl nodded, her ginger curls bouncing against her shoulders.

"Okay. Sorry," She said softly.

"No, it's fine. It happens a lot." Pete said. He wasn't lying. Peterick shippers were everywhere. We should probably go. It was nice to meet you, Allison."

"You too, Pete," Allison said, a smile plastered on her face as Pete lead Patrick out.

"You're wasted, you didn't even drink that much!" Pete said. Patrick yawned, rubbing his eyes.

"I had two- two pitchers," Patrick said. Pete stared back at him in shock. Those pitchers were huge.

"Damn, Trick. You okay?" Patrick nodded as he flopped into the passenger seat, passing out right there. Pete grabbed a blanket from his trunk and covered Patrick with it, it was cold for April, even for New York.

Pete drove down to the hotel the boys were staying at and called Andy to help him with Patrick.

"He's out," Andy said, "let's let him sleep." Pete nodded and held Patrick bridal style, glancing down as a bottle rolled onto his seat. Andy picked it up, his eyes wide.

"This shit is strong," He whispered. Pete nodded roughly, carrying Patrick upstairs as Andy held open the doors. Pete lay him down on his bed, making sure he was covered and warm. Patrick shifted, cuddling his fedora as it fell in his arms.

Pete smiled as Andy placed Patrick's beer on the nightstand.

"He's cute," Andy admitted, and Pete nodded.

"Come on, let him sleep. It's been a long day for him." Pete said, leading Andy out of the room and switching off the light.
