*NOTICE*
Shortest chapter ever. This is the end of book 1. But I'm gonna give you an extra called "the Face Behind the Mask". It's a short part for Shade to show his emotions on such, give you hints to what and who he is. And how he feels about Blu. I'm about to finish that and I'll post it by tomorrow. Enjoy!!!

You know that stupid stuff you want to do and when you do it, you regret it? Well, that’s what I just did to offer Shade to come and meet me in the café where the Valerie’s took me. I grabbed a coffee and nervously took sips. I was regretting this but I knew I had to get it straight.
Shade didn’t like me that way, okay. It hurts, yeah, but I won’t go psycho like any other girl. I also won’t cry. I won’t scream or yell. Just reason it out. I saw Shade enter and froze as I took in his appearance.
I took in his blue-black raven hair that was long enough to almost reach his chin but was swept to the side to show his electrifying blue eyes to his slightly muscular body. His white porcelain skin had no blemish but I looked at the snakebite piercings he had on. He tugged his black leather jacket tight around him and his eyes caught mine. He gulped and sat down across from me.
“Is this about what…?”
“You kissed me time and time again, you treated me more than a friend. You treated me like someone you liked romantically,” I said, “And then you say her name. Admit you only used me.”
He looked at me, “I never used you.”
“Could have fooled me,” I replied.
“I might have kissed you and flirted a bit but I didn’t mean to lead you on,” Shade scowled, “You were the first person to give me any attention and not to treat me like shit. You’re my friend. And I’m sorry if I lead you on otherwise.”
“Evangeline is my twin, Shade,” I said.
He stuttered, “What?”
“That’s why we look so alike, have the same illnesses; we’re related by chance,” I scowled, “We’re getting the tests done on some strands of old hair to see if there’s a chance.”
He scowled, “Why do you…?”
“I’m a twin, Evangeline is adopted. We have some resemblance and even though Evangeline is dead, she’ll not be alone. She’ll have family in a way,” I frowned, “I lost so much, even with Evangeline dead, I feel like I’ll have more family. I didn’t tell you because you would block me off, anyone would. I went through so many doubts, fears, but now, Mrs. Valerie is now almost being a second mother to me. I guess I gave up so much of my hope that I lost sight of how much love I actually got, and none coming from you.”
He looked at me, “I do care about you, just not that powerfully!”
“Then why did you kiss me!” I claimed.
“Because I thought I could move on, but I can’t,” he scowled, “Have you ever been in love?”
“Yes,” I stared him so deeply that I think he caught my drift, “And trust me, losing a love one can't hurt so much more than never having a love one in the first place, Shade.”
He growled, “I do care about you, I love you…”
“Not the same way I love you though,” I sighed and he looked at me, bewildered.
“Y-you can’t,” he said.
“Go find some other girl’s emotions to play with, you insecure little twit!” I snapped.
“You first, you abominable twat,” he said.
My jaw dropped. His eyes widened as he registered what he just said, “Okay, sorry, not the best line…”
I slapped him and his cheek reddened.
I felt my eyes redden and tears running down my cheeks. He grabbed onto me, “I love you like a sister, not like Kit, but a sister I truly care about. You’re my best friend, without you, I feel empty.”
“And with you, I feel like I’m missing even more,” I told him.
He frowned, “Please, just, don’t leave me.”
“I-I’m sorry, Shade…” I stuttered, I walked out of the store, and I hoped I didn’t look back. But I did after a few seconds and I saw Shade staring after me, but not following.
Guess he couldn’t get the guts to stop me or he didn’t care at all…
I had to look after my life. I had to be Saint Evangeline. I finally looked forward.
This Los Angeles, my new school, everything, was a second chance. I finally got my grasp on it, and I wasn’t gonna to let go any time soon.
