After lunch, Kurt had another free period before Potions. As Blaine had Herbology, he decided to use the time to write letters to his father and friends back in America.

"I'm sure they'll want to know all about Hogwarts and lessons and..." he had faltered here, turned faintly pink and muttered something Blaine had not been able to make out before continuing with, "well, they'll get mad if I don't write them soon. I'm sure Mercedes is freaking out that she can't text me anymore."

Blaine had blinked curiously at the work 'text' but Kurt hadn't elaborated. Instead, he had given Blaine a cheery wave before departing to the Ravenclaw Tower to write his letters.

"See you in Potions, Blaine," he called behind him.

"See you," Blaine called back, watching him go for a moment with a faint smile before turning the opposite direction and making his way out of the Castle towards the greenhouses.

He hummed randomly, shivering in the cold breeze. A few snowflakes drifted lazily down around him, though they melted the moment they hit the swaying grass.

"Anderson, wait up!"

Blaine turned to see Flint Wilson jogging towards him from the Castle, his robes fanning out behind him. Reluctantly, Blaine slowed his pace, allowing for Wilson to catch up. "What?" he grunted, not looking at the other boy.

"Easy," Wilson said, holding up his hands in surrender. "I'm not here to talk Quidditch. This is strictly man to man, not Captain to Captain."

"Okay," Blaine said slowly, "So, what do you want?"

Wilson fell into an easy stride beside him and Blaine found himself having to quicken his own, shorter steps to keep up with him. Blaine thought he must have had a giant somewhere in his ancestry. Or maybe a troll. He smirked at the thought.

"That new transfer student, Hummel," Wilson said at last.

"What about him?" Blaine said, frowning at Wilson.

"Seems nice," Wilson replied off-handedly.

"Yea, he's a good bloke," Blaine said, wondering just what Wilson was getting at.

"Does he, er, I mean," Wilson coughed awkwardly. "Is he gay?"

Blaine stumbled slightly at this, frowning at Wilson as he regained his footing. "Why would it matter to you if he was?"

Wilson didn't look at him as he replied, instead squinting at the distant mountains. "Well, like I said, he seems nice. Pretty easy on the eyes, too."

Blaine actually stopped mid-stride. "Wait, what, you're-?"

Wilson stopped as well and turned to look at Blaine with an amused expression. "Yea, I am," he said. "Does that surprise you?"

Blaine frowned and shrugged as he considered it. "Well, I never really thought about it, I guess. Never had a reason to."

Wilson chuckled and shook his head. "I don't really broadcast it," he said. "But I don't deny it." He shrugged. "If people want to know they're free to ask, but, honestly, I don't think they really care."

"I'm sure some of them do," Blaine muttered, thinking of the third-year Ravenclaw girls who had formed the "Flint Wilson Fan Club" and made it their mission for one of them to become his girlfriend.

"What was that?" Wilson said, taking a step towards Blaine and frowning.

"Er, nothing," Blaine said hastily, starting again towards the greenhouses. Wilson stepped with him. "So, about Kurt. You, uh, like him?"
