Blaine couldn't help but grin at the look of flushed excitement on Kurt's face as Slughorn went over their project for the next month.

"Now," Slughorn said jovially, tapping his fingers against his ample stomach. "You've all split into your groups and you've got your recipes. After a month, I expect to see three cauldrons of Polyjuice Potion and your essays discussing the method of brewing and its effects, two rolls of parchment. Make sure you take notes as you work." He clapped his hands together. "Alright, hop to it!"

There was the scrape of chairs on stone as they all stood to get into their groups and gather ingredients.

"Thanks for letting me join you guys," Wilson said, smiling around at Blaine, Wes, David, and Thad as Kurt ambled off to the store cupboard after planting a kiss on Blaine's cheek.

We and David nodded curtly, Thad continued to read down the list of ingredients for the potion, though his eyes weren't moving.

"Listen, Flint," Blaine began, glancing towards where Kurt was chatting happily with a pair of Slytherin girls about the finer points of American fashion as they selected bundles of boomslang skin. Blaine smiled a little before returning his gaze to Wilson. "I get that you're trying to be a part of Kurt's life, you're in love with him, I get it, remember? But I respected your relationship with Kurt. I never made a move, I just told him how I felt. And he obviously knows how you feel.

"I'm just going to tell you right now. If you try anything, anything, I won't hesitate to curse your bits off, understand?" He was smiling as he spoke, as Kurt was walking back towards them now, but his voice and eyes were hard.

Wilson matched his smile. "Perfectly," he said as Kurt reached the table and set down the armload of ingredients he was carrying, not catching the cold look that passed between his boyfriend and ex.

Blaine lifted a few things from Kurt's arms, nipping him lightly on the earlobe as he did.

Kurt giggled and squirmed at the touch. "Blaine," he cried, giving him a reproving look.

Blaine smirked and felt a sense of vindictive satisfaction at the way Wilson's jaw tightened a little, his eyes fixed on unpacking one of the boxes Kurt had brought. If he was going to have to put up with Wilson, he was going to make sure he knew that he had no chance with Kurt.

"I love you," Blaine said, trailing his fingers down Kurt's back lightly.

Kurt ducked his head, blushing faintly and muttering, "I love you, too."

Wilson dropped the measuring cup he was holding and it shattered, sending shards of glass across the floor.

Kurt jumped and pulled out his wand, pointing at the glass and saying, "Reparo."

The pieces flew back together and Kurt bent to pick up the cup, turning to Wilson. "Are you okay?" he said, straightening up and brushing a few stray bits of glass from Wilson's robes.

"Fine," Wilson said with a smile, though the moment Kurt turned back to unpacking things he threw Blaine a furious look, to which Blaine responded with a smug smile.

The entire Double period proceeded this way, with both of them being overly chummy towards each other whenever Kurt was watching and glaring daggers when the oblivious boy bent over the table to take notes or returned to the store cupboard for something.

David and Wes watched the whole things nervously, wands close at hand in case one of them finally snapped and decided to Transfigure the other into a newt.

Kurt didn't seem to notice a thing and happily filled the silence with his usual chatter, which Blaine always found adorable. Apparently Wilson did as well because he was watching Kurt fondly whenever he thought Blaine wasn't looking. But Blaine wasn't afraid. He trusted Kurt and knew that he would never give Wilson the chance to do anything...uncouth. He knew Kurt loved him and that he would love him even more if he was understanding towards Kurt and Wilson's friendship.
