The next morning, Thursday, Kurt had Double Transfiguration with Jeff and Nick. He waved goodbye to a groggy Blaine, who had not gotten back until very late from his patrol, before following Jeff and Nick out of the dormitories, grinning as they argued about something. They occasionally glanced back at Kurt, smirking, but he ignored them.
When they entered the Transfiguration classroom, Kurt looked around at the unfamiliar faces and spotted Flint sitting towards the back, chatting to a Slytherin boy sitting behind him. Before Kurt could acknowledge him, Jeff and Nick had grabbed him and were steering him straight towards Flint.
"What are you doing?" Kurt hissed.
"Nothing," Jeff said cheerily.
Nick shoved Kurt down in the seat next to Flint before he and Jeff ran to sit a few rows over, snickering.
"Hey," Flint said, grinning at him.
"Hey," Kurt replied, frowning at Nick and Jeff, who had their heads together over a piece of parchment and were muttering rapidly. Every few seconds, they threw a glance at Kurt and Flint. Jeff said something, Nick shook his head and scribbled something out on the parchment.
"Something wrong?" Flint said.
"Honestly, I'm not sure," Kurt said, shaking his head and unpacking parchment, quill and ink.
"Right," Flint said, frowning slightly.
"So what have you guys been working on in here?" Kurt said, pulling out his wand.
"Human transfiguration," Flint replied, opening his book to the section and pointing it out to Kurt.
"Ah, of course," Kurt said, remembering the previous morning's events involving the color of Nick's hair.
"Had you started it yet at McKinley?" Flint said.
"A little," Kurt said, glancing at Flint's notes, "We're not quite as far as you, but I'm sure I'll manage."
"Well, if you can't, I'm told I'm an excellent tutor," Flint said. He grimaced and groaned. "I'm sorry, I keep doing that. I promise I don't try to sound so cliché."
"It's okay," Kurt said, giggling. "It's kind of cute."
"Well then that's something we have in common," Flint said.
Kurt blushed faintly. "Are we flirting?" he said hesitantly.
"That depends," Flint said, resting his chin on his fist and giving Kurt a steady look.
"On what?"
"Are you enjoying it?"
Kurt bit his lip before nodding and shrugging. "Yeah, I guess I am," he said softly.
"Then yes," Flint said, turning to look to the front as the Transfiguration teacher, Professor Aldebrand, stood from her desk to begin the lecture, though he was smiling faintly.
Kurt straightened his own parchment and began taking notes, struggling to keep up with what Aldebrand was saying as she explained the aspects of Facial Alteration spells. Ten minutes in, a ball of parchment his Kurt's head and he looked around to see Nick and Jeff staring at him.
"Read it," Jeff mouthed.
Kurt frowned and flattened out the parchment over his notes.
