Two weeks ago, Kurt never would have expected that he would be spending his first day of Easter holidays waving goodbye to Flint and Dan in the entrance hall with the rest of his roommates while Jeff and Nick stood on either side of Thad, nudging him suggestively.
"You did it once, Thad," Jeff muttered.
"Shut up," Thad growled, scowling.
"Just go straight up to him and give him a good snog," Nick said, winking.
"Hurry up because he'll be gone soon and you won't see him for a whole week," Jeff said, pushing Thad forward with a hand on his back.
"Stop it," Thad hissed, blushing furiously.
Since the two Beaters had discovered that Thad nursed a soft spot for Flint, they'd been doing small things to try and get Thad to finally open up and talk to Flint. Apparently he'd barely said three words to him since the kiss and they all consisted mainly of nervous squeaks before he ran away again, blushing scarlet.
"Thad," Nick said sternly, "We're your best mates aren't we?"
"Unfortunately," Thad grumbled.
"Well, then you should take our advice," Jeff said, nudging him forward again to where Flint was talking to a few Hufflepuff girls by the House Point hourglasses.
"The last time I took your advice I ended up waking up on the Astronomy Tower wearing a set of Quidditch robes and holding a ham," Thad growled.
"Well, how were we supposed to know that you and alcohol would mix to create something so hilarious?" Nick said, shrugging.
"You tried to teach me how to ride a broom when I couldn't even walk straight!" Thad shouted, throwing up his arms.
"And you did an excellent job considering," Jeff said, grinning. "Honestly, I think alcohol may actually improve your coordination."
"It certainly improves your speed," Nick said, matching his best friend's smirk, "When you took that ham from the kitchens you took off so fast we thought you'd learned to Apparate."
"You can't Apparate inside—nevermind," he said, shaking his head and rolling his eyes.
"Kurt, help us out here," Jeff said, turning to Kurt, who was watching the exchange with a smile, his hand in Blaine's.
"Thad, he really is nice," Kurt said encouragingly. "Now that he's no longer in cahoots with Jeremiah, I don't think there's much crazy to be had. Especially just by talking to him."
Thad gnawed his lip nervously.
Jeff sighed dramatically. "Thad, don't make me force you to go over there."
"He'll do it," Nick said.
"Yes, I've heard you two say that before," Thad muttered. He took a deep breath and straightened up before clenching his fists and walking towards Flint resolutely.
"I bet you he kisses him again," Jeff murmured, smirking.
"Or passes out," Nick sniggered.
"H-hi, Flint."
Flint turned from the two girls he was talking to to see Thad standing nervously a few feet away, tapping his fingers against the sides of his thighs.
"Hey," Flint said, smiling. Thad had barely spoken to him since he'd kissed him two weeks before, but he expected it was his unbelievable shyness that caused him to run away every time Flint approached him. "Ready for break?"
Thad nodded, staring at his feet.
"Excited to go to Hogsmeade when it's over?" Flint said, taking a step towards him so that he didn't have to raise his voice over the commotion in the hall of students saying their goodbyes and preparing to leave for the week.
