~You~

You were working on the matted mess of your hair when you heard the knock on the door. Sebastian's voice drifted through, asking if you were ready.

"Give me a minute, please!" Your voice was a bit muffled from the elastic in between your teeth. It didn't have to be perfect, you just woke up, anyway.

Pulling your hair up into a presentable bun, you ran your hands down the dress you got from the wardrobe. Fortunately, it fit you almost perfectly, and you did a little twirl. This won't be that bad. After all, you weren't dead yet, were you?

You plastered an elegant smile on your face, just like you would before attending balls and parties with your father. The memory made your eyes sparkle, so you didn't think further. You walked to the door and pulled it open, revealing the crimson eyed demon.

"I should be-" Your words died off when you noticed the odd look the servant was giving you. Self cautiously, you looked down at the simple day dress, which you thought was perfect for the meeting with this master. "Is there something wrong..?"

He said nothing, and instead shook his head before gesturing you to follow him. You hesitated, but you knew you couldn't keep the head of the estate waiting. As you followed him quietly, you looked around, taking in your surroundings.

Everything seemed nice enough... But one thing that sent chills down your spine was the loneliness of the place. Sure, you haven't been in a well run Manor for more than half a decade, but this seemed saddening.

You couldn't think of it much further before you were led into an orangery. The sweet citrus smell filled your nose and you breathed it in deeply. The dirt and leaves made the sweetness mild, and it was just wonderful. In the center, a small table was set up with two rather ornate chairs. You couldn't see the master, and for a second you were confused before hearing the clink of a teacup against a saucer.

Sebastian led you to the chair opposite of the master's and you sat down nervously. He bowed before taking a stand behind the other chair.

You couldn't help but notice two key details about the human sitting in the chair across from you. 1) He was short and 2) he was young. It wasn't an entirely bad thing, but it made you... curious. What had happened to this boy? Why was he supposedly the head of the family now?

"Good Afternoon, my Lady. Let's begin this as friends, shall we?" At your brief nod, he smiled at you. "You may call me by Ciel."

Ciel? The name sounded familiar, but you didn't know why. "Ciel. Please, call me (Y/n)."

Ciel seemed to think something over before opening his mouth to speak once more. "Care to tell me why you're here, (Y/n)?"

"I believe the Butler is better suited to answer that question. All I know is that I would be dead if Sebastian hadn't been there..." You forced yourself to let your voice ring clearly, to show that you wouldn't cower back from them.

Ciel let out a small chuckle. "You say that as if you have no clue whatsoever. What caused you to come here in the first place?"

"I was being chased by demons." You gave a pointed look to Sebastian, and saw his lips barely curl up at her words. "I assume this doesn't surprise you?"

You saw Ciel glance up at Sebastian briefly before returning his full attention to you. "Not at all... Sebastian, leave us."

Sebastian gave a shocked look to his master. Nevertheless, he bowed reluctantly. "Yes...my lord."

When he left, you looked to Ciel with a question in your eyes. He ignored it, and his unpleasant smile grew wider. "I suggest you be completely honest with me, (Y/n)."

Something in his one blue eye told you he wasn't one to say things lightly. "...What if I choose to say nothing at all?"

"You risk your fate in this Manor."

"My fate?"

"Indeed. Answer me this, (Y/n), what is your relationship with my butler?"

"Relationship? I don't have any relation to Sebastian whatso-"

"I thought I told you to be honest with me."

"I- I am! I couldn't care less for that disgusting bastard."

"You must have done something to get the attention of this particular 'disgusting bastard'. Giving the facts that he hardly left your side when you were unconscious and actually failed in following orders immediately, I would dare say that he actually cares for you."

"I find that rather hard to believe."

"Whether you believe it or not, the facts are still there. Because of them, you are somewhat useful to me."

"To you? But did you not just say-"

"I know what I said."

"May you not cut me off?"

"No."

"Wh-?"

"Because I said so."

You waited for him to say more, to give you another blow to your scattered mind. Relationship? Usefulness? What was going on here? You twitched and fidgeted with your dress again, trying to piece together the holes in this conversation. Ciel must have noticed, but he calmly took a sip of his tea as if he had not a care in the world.

"You say that you don't care for him at all?"

"Y-yes..?"

"Then I should trust that you can make his life miserable."

"Why would you want to make his life miserable?"

"He's a demon, I'm sure you can understand."

Something you could agree with, but this didn't make you any less wary of Ciel. It seemed he immediately went to the conclusion that you would be staying here for a prolonged period of time, first of all. "Why should I?"

"If you stay and assist me in punishing him, then I will guarantee your protection. You don't have a home to return to anyway, do you?"

You tried to scoot away from him, scared as to how he knew that about you. "Well, no..."

"Then until I say otherwise, you will be treated as a guest in this Manor."

Which meant Sebastian would have to cater to your every need until Ciel allowed him to have your soul. Despite knowing this, you had to admit that the promise of protection for the time being was enticing... You would be safe and privy to the pleasures of a noble's guest as long as you did everything in your power to make a servant suffer. It was cruel and you loved it.

"...Very well, Ciel." You lifted your teacup and clinked it with his. You had too many questions. Most of which you knew wouldn't be answered. Still, you decided to agree for now.

Besides, what's the worst that can happen in this manor?
