~You~
"Oh, come on! You know I can't walk as fast as you, Seba- sorry, Corvus..."
Even with your slip up, he had the decency to shorten his strides. You smiled, half-jogging in order to catch up to him. You didn't know where you were following him to, but for the past few days this is what you've been doing. Not running, not cowering and trying to stay hidden, but...enjoying a demon's company. It was fun, for the most part...
Of course, that day when you woke up in a wet, dark cave and chained to the wall wasn't that great. You could never forget how terrified you were that morning. How alone and betrayed you were... until he came for you, and explained what had happened.
You looked back up to the demon you used to call Sebastian, his reason for rejecting that last order bouncing around in your head.
'He had me never told me when.'
The logic behind his reason was obvious, but truly, why hadn't he killed you? Does this mean he will kill you at some point? If so, what's taking him so long? You sighed, having too many questions and not enough answers.
Why were you even following a demon? A creature that you've learned to despise and loathe. What in the name of hell made this one so different?
"(Y/n)?"
You blinked, realizing you had been staring at him this whole time... Oh well, it wasn't like you could hide it anyway. "Mhm?"
"Am I that handsome?"
"No. You're that ugly." Sarcasm dripped from your voice like honey, and you smiled teasingly.
He clutched his chest, as if you had stabbed him, and stumbled mockingly. "You wound me, kitten."
"I told you not to call me that!"
"Why? It suits you so well right now."
You were blushing madly, yet you still narrowed your eyes in warning. "Don't tempt me, Corvus."
"Or you'll do what?" He smirked, and ran his fingers through your hair.
This wasn't an unusual occurrence lately, where you two were relaxed enough to tease each other. You found it odd, considering...well, how much you've put him through. Sometimes, you thought you caught a glimpse of his eyes glazing over when he looked at you. He still didn't completely trust you, and in return you didn't exactly trust him either.
"I'll just have to annoy you every day for the next week."
"Don't you annoy me enough already?" He snatched you into his arms. You yelped and squirmed, fighting his hold. "No matter, I'll just have to keep you here for the next week then."
"You wouldn't!"
"Don't underestimate me, (Y/n)," he said darkly before tightening his hold on you. You didn't underestimate him. Not anymore, if you ever did. Now, though, you didn't have the shield of a master's order...or a master at all.
"Fine," you huffed, and crossed your arms. Let him carry you, at least you didn't have to walk. Where were you two going anyway? You looked around the woodland scenery, which you've grown weary of trudging through. "How much longer, Demon?"
"A few days, little Human, if you continue with that attitude." You frowned at the new nickname, but found it much more suitable than "kitten".
"Where are we going?" You've asked this for the hundredth time, ever curious of the answer. You never got one, though.
"Does it matter?" He sounded as if he was actually looking for an answer, which made you roll your eyes.
It should matter. If you were being dragged to a dungeon and cut off from humanity for the rest of your life, you'd like to at least know beforehand... "Uh, yes?"
