<Three days later>

~You~

You began to realize just how much you saw him every day.

Each time, you two you share a glance, and just stand there until the other was called for a new task. You spoke less, and often drifted. The other servants noticed this, and asked a few too many questions.

"What's happened, Miss (Y/n)?"

"Is everything alright?"

"You've been actin' a bit differently lately...I was just wonderin'."

You merely smiled and nodded your head to it all, giving no straight answers. That was all they ever saw of you, the good and the sweet. You had to admit that you had grown fond of them as no matter how ignorant and clumsy they may be, they were good people. But you knew that something was different. Something was off.

Now you avoided them, preferring to be alone. You were never completely alone though. You knew he would be just around the corner... you could just tell. And when you saw him, he would see you, both of you would stop, and something would feel right again.

It was never uncomfortable, which made it all the more odd. It was as if all you needed was to look at each other to communicate. It worked, too. There was a moment when you had your mind trapped in the past, and it must have shown in your eyes. He had walked up to you, no longer held back by the thought of punishment, and brushed your hair back as if to say, 'It's over. Gone. You're here now. It'll be okay.'

You never really believed it, but you felt better afterwards... It was startling how much you've changed. How much you've broken down. You knew this, but... 'It'll be okay.'

Maybe...you were here for an actual reason. Not to be reduced to the poor soul your father was, or to rise in power but something else. Something that has to do with Sebastian...but you just didn't know what.

As you've been trying to wrap your mind around your thoughts, you noticed the other guest in the manor. You weren't there when she arrived, and you hadn't even caught a glimpse of her until yesterday. Somehow, you had been walking around her, just brushing past in the next hallway, or walking by her room.

She was a bright and happy girl. Golden hair and emerald eyes was the glimpse you were given, before she ran the other way, pulling Ciel behind her. So that's why you also hadn't seen the Earl; he was with her. Why?

The next time you saw Sebastian, you would speak, and you would ask. At the moment, you sat down near the window of the room you were given, but your window was closed. Instead, you looked over your quarters, noting how nice and pristine Sebastian had cleaned it. Gone was the blood and tears. No stains, no memory. But you remembered. You remembered how it used to bring you pleasure, how it enlivened you, addicted you. The pain, the grunts and moans of agony you caused...

Now it made you shiver, look down at yourself in shame and guilt. The demon was never the monster...You were. He was the victim. You could still recall the hallucination of your dead father. The words he had said. 'How could you?'

The Earl. Ciel had granted you protection and the chance to relax as a guest if you made Sebastian miserable. Why? You had the same question, knowing that it wasn't just the fact that he was a demon. At the time, you didn't care. It was the perfect opportunity for an easy out to your problems.

Right?

It didn't matter now. You had given in so easily, blind to what the noble really wanted. Now, since you had stopped your constant interactions with the demon, you were sure to be confronted at some point. Perhaps when that girl left...
