Your best friend Sal has always been there for you in the many years you've known him, whether it be about family issues, school issues, or just life issues in general. Over the years, you developed what you called "the word", in your case it was "please", just that one word. Once you mentioned the word to Sal or he to you, it signalled that one of you needed to vent and let it all out. "Please" you texted Sal. You tossed your phone to the side and laid on your bed in the fetal position.

Around 10 minutes later, you heard Sal walk in and come down the hallway. He carefully walked over to where you were laying and laid beside you. He gently put his arm around your waist and his hand on your stomach, scooting you closer to him. "So..." he said in a calm voice,"angry, sad, or confused?" he asked.

You sighed and replied: "I guess the latter. I'm mad over something stupid but at the same time I want to scream and cry. I don't know, I don't really want to talk about it. In all honesty, I only texted that so you would come over and cuddle.." You could practically feel him chuckle as he pulled you closer, putting his forehead on your shoulder.

"You know I'm always here for you, (y/n), Whether it be for crying, yelling, napping... anything. You're my best friend, and I'm going to do all in my power to protect you from the world. Whenever you feel like talking, just let me know. Until then..." he said, kissing at your neck and placing his hand a little harder on your stomach, holding you tighter and safer to him.

You sighed contently and let out a few tears. You made a soft sniffling sound and Sal heard it. He whispered a quiet 'shhh' in your ear and lightly ran the tip of his nose across your neck, settling his forehead in the space between your head and shoulders.

You smiled a little and put your hand on his that was on your stomach. You were so glad to have a man like Salvatore in your life, he was a true sweetheart. At this point, you had no idea what you would do without him. You both slowly drifted off in each other's embrace and had one of the best naps you've had in years.
