It was 3 in the morning, and like any sensible adult, your boyfriend James was fast asleep. You, on the other hand... you were on the verge of tears. You haven't slept all night and at this point you were frustrated.

Not being able to hold it in any longer, you let the tears fall as quiet as possible to avoid having him wake up. You were cautious and careful, but that didn't last for long. You sniffled possibly a tad too loud and you could see him start to toss and turn ever so slightly.

You internally breathed a sigh of relief when he laid back down as if nothing happened. You accidentally let out a whimper and you knew that'd wake him up. He tossed and turned once more before turning to you.

"...baby?" he said in a sleepy groggy voice. "Yeah?" you answered, trying to sound as if you weren't crying for the last 20 minutes. "You know, I can tell you've been crying. Now, tell me what's wrong." he said, sitting up to look at you.

"It's nothing, babe, I promise. I just... I can't sleep, and its making me frustrated." you uttered out, a couple more tears falling. "Well, why didn't you wake me up?" he asked, wiping away one of your tears, concerned. "You were sound asleep. I didn't wanna bother you all because I couldn't be." you responded.

"That's nonsense, babygirl. You can wake me up for whatever reason at whatever time, I won't care. Alright? Now, what can I do to help my girl fall asleep?" he asked, full knowing what your answer would be. "Cuddle me?" you answered in a sleepy cute tone. "I thought you'd never ask." he said with a quiet chuckle.

He allowed you to curl up next to him before wrapping one of his arms around you. He held you tight against him with said hand. "Babe?" you said. "Hm?" he replied. "Thank you." you smiled. "For what? I'm just doing what a good boyfriend should do. Now, get some sleep." he said, kissing your cheek and holding you tighter against him.

It was hard not to fall asleep after that.
