Without Lexi and Kyle, the cleaning job was disaster free. We didn't break anything and got paid our full amount. Simon kept telling me to take it easy though. It's like I was a porcelain doll and not an almost S-Class wizard. Simon was S-Class of course. I complained to him the whole train ride home.

"I can take care of myself Simon! You didn't have to do everything. Nothing's going to happen while I'm sweeping a floor. It wasn't like I was fighting or anything. And another thing..." I continued to ramble. Simon listened patiently. His fingers started tapping against his seat and he suddenly grabbed me and kissed me.

"Are you done?" he asked with annoyance when he pulled away.

"And another thing?" I said as more of a question. Simon grinned.

"That's what I thought. This is our stop," he said. He stood and grabbed our stuff, then took my hand. We exited the train to find Mama, Papa, Erza, Natsu, and Happy.

"What are you rascals doing here?" Natsu asked as he pulled me in for a noogie. I punched him away.

"We just got back from a job," Simon answered. Mama and Erza were smiling at us knowingly as Simon wrapped an arm around my waist and glared at Natsu. Papa slung an arm around my shoulders.

"Humor an old man and tell Natsu that he's an idiot," Papa said.

"Natsu, you're an idiot," I said monotone. Both of them made dejected faces.

"She really called me an idiot."

"She doesn't even care enough to put effort into it." I rolled my eyes. Mama hugged me tightly.

"Take care while we're gone. Don't do anything to hurt my grandbaby," she whispered. My eyes widened.

"How did you know?" I whispered back. Mama just laughed. Another train pulled into the station and Mama grabbed Papa's hand.

"Take care you two. Make sure the guild doesn't get destroyed while we're gone," Erza told us. She lifted her hand to pat Simon on the head, but he was a head taller than her now, so she settled for patting his shoulder.

"Bye Mom! If you see Dad, tell him I say hi," Simon called after them. While Jellal was effectively posing as Mystogan and was able to be in the guild, he had taken a job a few weeks ago and hadn't been back yet. The doors of the train shut and it went rolling out of the station. Me and Simon held hands as we walked back to the guild. Lexi and Kyle were fighting outside of the guild. It was hard to tell if it was serious or sparring.

"Shut up!!" Kyle yelled running forward to land a punch. Lexi easily caught his fist and flipped him onto his back. She stepped on his arm and glared down at him.

"You're an insolent little boy Kyle. You really shouldn't stick your nose where it doesn't belong," Lexi told him in a deadly voice. Me and Simon glanced at each other confused. Kyle kicked his feet up and hit Lexi while flipping onto his feet. Kyle glared at Lexi and I could tell he was holding back tears. He was still fifteen. He glanced over at me, then back to Lexi.

"I won't let you leave Fairy Tail!" Kyle yelled running forward again. Lexi dodged him easily and elbowed him in the stomach. I was so confused now. Kyle was the best at hand to hand combat in the guild, yet he couldn't seem to touch Lexi. And what was this about leaving the guild? Kyle was on his back again and Lexi stepped her heeled boot on his guild mark on his chest.

"Stay down Kyle! I don't want to hurt you, but I will," Lexi growled. Kyle grabbed her leg and flipped her. He stood over Lexi.

"What's gotten into you Lexi!?! Why do you want to leave the guild? Your whole family is here!" Kyle shouted at her. Lexi stood up and brushed herself off.

"I have no family anymore," she said seriously. My mouth dropped. How could she disown Natsu and Lisanna so easily.

"Lexi! What is the meaning of this?!" Simon yelled at her.

"You stay out of it Simon! I'm leaving Fairy Tail!" Lexi shouted back. I hadn't noticed before, but the guild had come outside and stood in shock. Lisanna stepped forward hesitantly.

"Lexi...why?" she asked. Her eyes glistened with the tears to come. Lexi didn't even turn around to look at her mother.

"I'm tired of living in a shadow," Lexi said. Her hand clenched tightly and she grit her teeth. Lisanna sighed in defeat and let a tear run down her face. Lexi looked back at Kyle. He glared at her before looking away angrily. Lexi turned back and walked away from the guild. She picked up a backpack she must've dropped when she started fighting Kyle and slung it over her shoulder. Master Laxus looked sad as he watched her go. Her guild mark disappeared as she walked farther and farther away. I raised my hand in the Fairy Tail salute and the rest of the guild followed. Lexi didn't turn around, but somehow I felt that she knew.

The guild went back into the hall and we sat in stunned silence. Natsu wasn't going to be happy when he found out. Lisanna was working with Mirajane to get a hold of him. He had to know as soon as possible. Kyle sat at the bar glaring at the wood. His fist came down on it and he stood up.

"What reason could she possibly having for leaving Fairy Tail?" he demanded of the air. We all looked on the scene sadly. Lexi and Kyle had been reasonably close especially in the few years since she'd come out. They'd sit and talk about girls and hair styles. It was understandable he was hurt by her decision. Kyle's fist clenched tighter and I could see the tendons in his hand. "That wasn't like her. She doesn't care about shadows like you and me Kk," Kyle said softly. I gently reached out a hand to Kyle and placed it on top of his fist.

"It was her choice Kyle and you can't do anything about it," I whispered. Kyle threw my hand off.

"I can't believe that! There has to be something else that we don't know about!" Kyle declared. He stood there for a moment before he fell over. Kass was standing behind him, her hand transformed into a stone claw.

"Shut up! It's not manly to complain! If you want to change anything, you have to do something," she yelled at Kyle. Kyle jumped up and went running towards the guild doors. Kass grinned before running after him.

"Hey! Where do you think you're going?" I called.

"To find Lexi!" Kyle yelled back. A blue exceed with white spots flew after them. That was Lucky, the son of Happy and Carla.

"Wait for me! I wanna find Lexi too!" he shouted. The odd group soon disappeared from sight. I looked up at Simon.

"Should we go too? They could hurt themselves," I suggested.

"Is is wise for you to be doing something like this?" Simon wondered.

"You are not leaving me here alone," I told him sternly. Simon looked at the door for a moment and shook his head slowly.

"They need their own adventure. I think it's best if we stay here," he responded. I smiled at him.

"Let's go home, Simon," I said and began to tug at his hand. Simon smiled back and nodded.
