Chapter 17

Madelyn's POV

It's the next week and I've decided to get up and start facing the world since I've been hiding in my bed for a week now. Jenny is more than happy to see me so first thing she does is pull back the curtains in front of our window back, I flinch at the light and cover my eyes as they try to adjust to the light.

"God Jenny that's so bright" I say trying to feel my way around for clothes and everything else that I need to get ready for the day of classes ahead of me.

"It's not that bad" she tells me as she puts earrings in and then takes a seat on her bed drinking some coffee out of a coffee cup that she has in her hand.

"Sure..." I say rolling my eyes and then getting changed and doing my hair and makeup, I soon come to the conclusion that I Badly need a shower because I stink. Horribly.

"I've got your back" Jenny tells me and takes out a perfume from a basket under her bed, she walks over to me and starts spraying it on me, in no time I smell regular again, thank god.

"It's a strong perfume that should last you until you come back for your break, then you can shower and get ready for dance" she tells me patting my back and handing me a coffee and my book bag that is full of my books. Obviously.

"Thanks" I say taking each from her and slowly sipping my very hot and delicious coffee

"What are roommates for?" She smirks proudly at herself.

"Pride princess" I say before walking out the door and closing it behind me. I walk making my way to my first class, once I reach the door I stand outside mentally preparing myself to go in there, I know that Luke will be in there and asking me tons and tons of questions that frankly, I don't want to answer. Forget Luke, what will my professors say? I must have so much work to get caught up on. Wow. Good job Madelyn.

"Are you coming in?" A student asks as I snap out of it an realize that this poor student had been holding the door open for me the whole time waiting to see if I was coming in or not.

"Oh yeah I'm um I'm sorry" I say taking the Door so the kid can walk in and then I also walk in, I look around the room slowly seeing familiar faces but none that I'm completely familiar with if you know what I'm saying. I end up spitting Kirby and walking over to her and taking a seat beside her

"Kirby" I say smiling

"Madelyn!" She says smiling and shakes my hand as well.

"I didn't know you were in this class" I tell her

"Yeah I didn't either I guess" she laughs nervously

"Well at least you found everything okay! Must only get easier from here!" I tell her as I can tell that she's stressing out right now about everything

"I guess your right" she says as she lets out a big breath of air.

"I know I am!" I say smiling, I look around again trying to spot Luke and Mikey but again, nobody. I turn back around in my seat to face the front of the class and stare at the blank board for a few seconds, time passes by and class begins, I kind of zone in but my focus isn't all the way there at the moment i can admit.

In the middle of class I hear the door open and everybody's heads snap back to the door, the professor speaks while I start to turn around.

"Mr korns your late" she sternly says as I turn around and look at Luke whos stumbling around with his hair all messy and his flannel unbutton along with only one shoe

"I know.. I know I'm .. Im sorry I know" he says walking to the nearest open seat

"Anyways. Back to what we were talking about before luke decided to interrupt" the professor says and looks back at what she was doing. I keep my attention on Luke for a few seconds but I see him look at me so I look away quickly and continue taking notes.

"Do you have something with him..?" Kirby whispers to me

"What?" I say

"Luke, you look at him like you love him" she smiles small

"Oh we are dating" I say.

"Ohhhh" she wiggles her eyebrows and looks back at her notes, I let out a sigh and sit back in my chair listening to the rest of the class.

After class I stand up quickly grabbing my things and rush to the door because I know I need to hurry back to take a shower and than get ready for my dance classes.

"Madelyn" I hear Luke say as he reaches for me, I don't turn to look at him I just speak to him as I walk away

"Can't talk right now gotta go"

"Wait. I just need you to tell the dance teacher I won't be in any classes today. Or tomorrow. Or any day" he says

"What..?" I say turning to him

"I'm moving colleges" he says picking up his laptop and books.

My heart drops

As well as my books I'm carrying

"Y-your what?" I choke on my words.. As well as my air.

"Yeah" he says and walks past me and away, I turn to watch him go and when he's out of sight I pick up my books and start walking slowly.

He can't leave me. Are we done then? All of these thoughts in my head pile into my head at once and then it hits me, I won't see him everyday anymore. His smile, his eyes, his perfect hair that always lays the perfect way. I don't realize I'm crying until Kirby walks up to me and asks me what's wrong.

"Luke's leaving" I say. Wow the words feel weird as they tumble out of my mouth.

"Oh girl.." She says pulling me into a hug, I hug back bursting into tears.

And that's the day I felt my first heat break.
