Chapter 10

Me and Snake made our way to the clearing, we were expecting new rookies to join, and we were assigned to look after the new people, we saw the helicopter landed gently with a thud, people started filing out and stood in a group as they looked around in awe, I grabbed Snakes hand and drag him over to the newbies with a smile. I remembered General Hawk's lecture.

Stay professional.

"Hey!" I yelled at them, they all quickly stand in position "You know you don't have to do that to me, it feels weird." They all looked more relaxed

"I'm Fang, this is Snake eyes, we are both your instructor until general Hawk had assigned you guys your part, clear?" I state clearly while putting both hands on my hip

"Yes sir!" they yelled saluting

"Well, let's take you to your room then. Snakes!" I said trying to get his attention, he looked down at me, "Can you take the guys to their dorm? I'll take the women to theirs, tell them to meet at the training ground after an hour, okay?" I asked smiling as he nodded

"Okay let's go!" I state as they form into their own groups, I turned around and lead the women to their designated rooms

We all chatted, actually, it's more of them ask questions and I answer, they were all polite and probably a little bit nervous, as I drop them off one by one to their rooms, I reminded them about the meeting. When we got to the last room, I look down at my board,

"Kate?" I look up and found myself looking at dark blue eyes

"Yes, ma'am!" She stepped forward

"This is your room, well, what are you standing there for? Go on in, I'll see you later and don't be late!" I smiled giving her a pat in the back

She walked forward and bumped into my shoulder harshly and left without saying something, and I was pretty sure that she glared at me when she passed. Did I do something wrong? Did I sound too harsh? I was just being friendly. Oh well, some do like to try and assert their dominance and all that, I just shook my head at her retreating back and left trying to find Snakes to see how he's doing.

I was glad that so far there is no trouble, which is a good thing, I don't need any trouble right now when I have so many people to keep my eyes on, I walked down the hallway past my other friends until I turned around the corner, I saw Snake-eyes 'talking' to Duke and the others.

"SNAKE!" I yelled and tackled him, he patted my head

"Did the guys make any trouble?" I asked and Snake shook his head indicating that nothing happened

"Good, they should be in the training hall by now, should we go?" I asked, he grabbed my hand linked our fingers together, we both made our way towards the group of rookies, I quickly let go of his hands and stood in front of them before they see. Must be professional.

"Okay, guys! Gather together!" I yelled

"Okay, we need to do tests on your physical and mental states, we- "

"Why are we doing this?" the girl Kate said looking bored "We did that before when we came here."

"So that we are sure it wasn't a mistake," I state bluntly while giving her a glare before going back to instructions

The girl seriously needs to learn to take orders, we started all the test and one by one they all pass, this year the rookies scores were much higher than last year, until Kate came in, she was really stubborn and wouldn't do anything, I let Snake take over since I knew if I try on more time to persuade her I would definitely throttle her.
