Chapter 4

We pulled into the parking lot and I was nervous to meet Nathan. I sat in the parking lot for a few extra minutes trying to calm my nerves.

"Are you ready honey? We can't wait forever," my mom said to me.

"Yeah I guess."

"Okay let's go then!" my mom replied enthusiastically.

I walked into Applebee's and sitting there with a bouquet of flowers was Nathan. He stood up, pulled my chair out, and gave me the flowers. I looked at the flowers and they were my favorite white roses.

"I hope you like them. They are my favorite flowers," Nathan said.

"Yes, I love them! They are actually my favorite also," I said.

He smiled to himself and blushing looked down at his menu. I smiled to myself at how he was really shy. I looked through the menu and saw there was a oriental chicken wrap so I got that with a Sprite and fries. He got a dish that had broccoli and shrimp with a root beer and a side of breadsticks.

"So tell me about yourself," he said slyly.

"Umm, I like to read and write books. I also like puppies and anything that is fluffy and cute." He chuckled to himself when I finished my sentence. "I also like romantic movies and taking pictures. Tell me a little about yourself."

"Well, my favorite sport is football and when I was little I hoped to play professionally. Umm what else? Oh I really like to go to the beach when the sun is setting, watch it set, and then lay on a blanket and look up at the stars. I hope to go to college at Harvard to get a degree in law."

"Why can't you play football professionally anymore?"

"Well my father wants me to become a lawyer like him, so I had to give up on that dream pretty early. What do you want to do once you graduate high school?"

"I want to become an elementary teacher."

"Really?"

"Yeah, is there something wrong with that?"

"No not at all! I just couldn't imagine you being a teacher that is all."

"Oh, well I did get a job in town here at the daycare."

"Really? My niece goes there and I pick her up sometimes!"

"Oh my gosh! That is why you looked so familiar before!"

Then our food came so we started to eat. Then I felt someone tugging on my sleeve I look over and Brittany is standing there. Her and my mom decided to get a different table so we could have some alone time to talk.

"What do you need Brittany?" I asked her.

"I need you to come to the bathroom with me. Quick!" she yelled out grabbing my arm and practically dragging me off my chair and to the bathroom.

"What is the matter?" I asked.

"I just wanted to talk to you about Nathan!" she said excitedly.

"What do you want to know?"

"Well, everything!"

"Well, he is cute and I really do like him. I kind of want to go on more dates probably by ourselves."

"Awww that is so cute! You two would be very cute together!"

"I know! We should probably go back before my mom and Nathan get suspicious of us being in here so long."

"Okay! I can't wait to see you two together as a couple!" Brittany said screaming in my ear and hugging me at the same time.

"Okay Brittany calm down," I said walking out of the bathroom. I sat back down at my table and finished my food. Our waiter then came over and asked if we wanted dessert, so we both decided to split a chocolate lava cake with ice cream. When it finally came it was gone in 30 seconds flat. I then saw Nathan reach over across the table towards me.
