Chapter Twenty-Nine:

I got pushed roughly to the ground, my knees paining me from the force. A gun was pointed to the side of my extremity. I trembled, terrified. What were they going to do?!

To my absolute horror, Thor and Derek fell to the ground in front of me, getting surrounded by guns, too.

"Guys!" I sobbed, wanting to go to them, and feel safe, but that wasn't going to happen.

"Shut up!" The guy above me yelled.

I whimpered, looking at the eyes of my friends, they were as scared as I was.

"Bring them!" One shouted, and a few people were pushing my family to walk.

I gasped, my heart coming to a halt as I saw Jacob's tears glinting under the sun. "Jacob!" I yelled, standing up.

"Mom!" He cried, but got pushed to the ground, and he sobbed.

"No!" I screamed, wanting to run, but a strong arm pulled me back, and a huge body engulfed me. A knife made contact with my throat, and my breath was caught in my lungs, as the cold metal grazed my skin dangerously.

"What do you want?" Christi asked, her voice shaky.

"Where are your weapons and supplies?" Who seemed like the boss spoke.

"They are ours!" Thor growled.

The boss shook his head, and kicked him in the stomach, making my heart skip a beat as I saw the pain on Thor's face. "Don't hit him!" I yelled.

The boss turned to me, "we asked a simple question, you just have to answer!" He shrugged.

"They are our supplies, for us to survive," I replied. The knife pressed against my skin, and I fought the urge to scream, trying to keep a strong posture. The boss looked around, and to my terror, his eyes landed on Jacob. I wanted to move, but the guy pulled me back more.

The boss leaned next to Jacob, "you should be a good boy, and tell us!"

"No," my son replied.

The boss tsked, and pulled at Jacob's hair lately, anger flaming inside of me. "Leave him alone!" I exclaimed loudly, tears threatening to fall.

He looked at me, "he's yours?" I didn't move, just glaring at him. The boss took out a knife, and passed it next to Jacob's face, making my heart race. "Give us your things, and we will leave you alone!" He said, bringing the knife dangerously close to Jacob's cheek.

"Wait," Christi spoke. We all looked at her, "you don't have to do any of this! No one should be harmed!"

"You could walk out of this," my mom talked, "there are rescue planes that will get us out of this safely! No need for this!"

My eyes widened, and I looked at my friends to find the same expression on my face. "Really?" The boss spoke, "when are they coming?"

"It's classified!" Derek said.

"Tell us," the guy grabbing me spoke, it's chest vibrated against my back.

"It's classified," Chris repeated.

"Is that so?" The boss raised an eyebrow. No one replied, making him tsk, again. And in a fast move, the knife against Jacob's cheek slashed him, his scream echoed. I froze.

It's like I got dipped in lava, I screamed the loudest I could, launching forwards, anger burning me as I heard Jacob's groans of pain. I ran towards the boss, but before I could reach them, a heavy body tackled me, pushing me to the hard ground, and I let out an exclaim of pain. I saw my mom trying to break free, but instead got punched, and she fell to the ground, then got pulled up by her hair, she looked at me with fear in her eyes. Thor tried moving, but got another kick in the stomach, and got pulled to his feet.
