An innocent soul is one who smiles even in the hardest of times because they want their loved ones to smile; who dreams in the ugliest phases of life and who fights even when there is no strength left in them. They are someone who even welcomes unexpected tragedies in life with a smile and refuses to give up without battling with their fears; thus they are weak yet strong at the same time but they are no different than others infact they are special because they are Almighty's favorite and if they suffer then it only means that someone up there is testing their will power to develop them into a stronger human being.
Curled up in her fluffy blankets, an angel was sleeping with a smile on her face, dreaming about her prince. Her alarm rang, indicating that it was time for this angel to wake up. She kept her eyes closed and reached for the alarm on her nightstand and switched it off. She covered her face with pillows, blocking the sun rays that were disturbing her sleep.
At the age of 12, the angel was far more talented and tolerant towards everything, just like her name, Raisha. Her character totally suited her name. Her parents, Dr.Nivedita Sinha and Dr.Raj Sinha were proud of her.
Both Raj and Nivedita were Gynecologists and their love for their profession was something that started their love story. Although Raj's family didn't believe in love marriage, they finally gave in due to Raj's persistence. Nivedita proved to be an amazing daughter in law and in no time, she won everyone's heart with her soft-spoken nature.
With Raisha's birth, both the families were on cloud nine, and when four years later, Jay was born, it only increased their happiness, especially for Nivedita's father Dr. Chetan Garewal who owned Scott's hospital in Lucknow. It was sheer luck or destiny that Raj and Nivedita both worked there, which was also a changing point in their relationship from colleagues, to friends, to lovers and finally, to the spouse. That gave her father a reason to give Raj the sole responsibility of the hospital when he took his last breath two years ago.
It was a really hard time for Nivedita as she had lost her mother long ago when she was still studying. Then, losing her only family left, that was really heartbreaking for her, but with Raj's and Raisha's support, she dealt with her loss bravely. Surely, Raisha Sinha was the apple of her parent's eyes.
"Raisha, wake up. You will be late for school,'' her mother said, entering her room. Raisha woke up lazily, rubbing her eyes. Nivedita smiled and ruffled her hair lovingly.
"Is my baby girl up?" Raj asked, entering the room. Raisha jumped out of bed to hug her father, but she shrieked in pain "Ahhhhh". Immediately, her parents were by her side helping her on the bed.
Tears ran down her cheeks as she looked at her swollen feet. "Baby you are not allowed to jump, did you forget?" her father chided her, massaging her swollen feet.
"Dad, what has happened to me? Why can't I do things like other kids?" She asked, sobbing. Her parents looked at each other and then at their daughter, who was still unaware of the awful things happening to her. How could they even explain to her that fate was playing his cruel cards? Their once perfect daughter was now forced to face these painful challenges of life. She had never tasted anything that sour in her life, and now, she was forced to take the heavy and strong medicines which were no different than poison to her.
"Mom tell me, please. I don't like being like this. I don't like those medicines. I don't like staying in the house. My friends no longer like me. Why am I becoming like this?" She asked the questions that had been troubling her for two months.
