People's silence is always mistaken for their weakness and lack of confidence. As insensible as it sounds, but when anyone ignores the other persons comment totally the person opposite to us mistake that silence as a way of our not being able to stand up to their standards, and capabilities.
But in our Raisha's case, it proves to be beneficial for her only as the more she ignored the rude and heartbreaking words, the more she got engrossed in her own life. Her life after a year, was still painful, hurting and devoid of any family or friends love apart from her parents and brother but she still had her talents and the power to study, which made her pass the sixth grade with flying colors. She never thought that she will be able to beat the topper of that section and the only person, who mattered to her the most in the whole class or probably the whole world, Aayush Khandelwal.
Raisha's condition wasn't good still. She faced acute pain in her joints suddenly leading to a high temperature, vomiting and swelling of her entire body. At times, her pain got so severe that she won't be able to get up for days, nor would she be able to attend her classes. But someone has said it rightly, that if a person loses something then God opens the other doors for them.
In Raisha's case, her intelligence and her mind were God's gift which leads her to become a topper in spite, of not being regular.
It was the first day of her seventh standard and she was hell excited because as the days had passed her likeliness for Aayush has increased all the more. He would simply talk to her in ordering tone, as they were seat mates for the entire year, but still, he never spoke anything cruel like all other classmates, that became the only reason Raisha felt more connected to him.
Her father dropped her to school and she entered this time with a little confidence as she had something to be proud of. She saw her once best friend Anisha Rawat, standing in the corridor with a group of girls. She passed her a weak smile while Anisha made a face seeing her swelled knees while the rest of the girls gave her disgusted looks seeing her flats instead of school shoes.
Raisha tried to walk away as fast as possible, but her feet can't handle that much stress and she tripped, but someone caught her before she could touch the ground.
"Why do I end up saving you always?"Aayush asked straightening her on her feet and she looked away embarrassed at the touch of his hands on her forearms. Raisha's eyes went to the group of girls, who were staring at her like she was some criminal and Aayush followed her gaze, shooking his head at them.
"You know you can leave my hand", Raisha said getting uncomfortable suddenly and he gave her a smug look but left her anyway. "Are you conscious of their looks?" he asked walking with her. She sure had a difficulty in believing that he was even beside her when through out the year he didn't even look at her straight.
Instead of answering his question, she asked back "You never told me that you saved me from falling on the stairs?" The memory of that incident was still afresh in her mind, logically every incident that happened throughout the year was afresh which she was trying to forget, but damn seems people are obsessed with torturing her.
"It wasn't that important!" He replied casually seeing her gazing in his direction in anticipation of his answer. She simply nodded not wanting to make him uncomfortable around her. Whether she agrees or not, his presence did affect her and she didn't want to lose this one person, who actually talked to her a little normally.
"Aayush why are you not replying me? "she asked after a few days. She had thought that maybe she will get one friend in her crazy life, but she forgot that people shouldn't get their hopes high like ever. Aayush was still her seat mate through his twisted words "It's a rule that one boy and girl will sit together so that they can concentrate on studies rather than chattering around, so I will sit with you as I don't want to sit with those makeup freaks ".
