Chapter 40: Run Devil, Run

It's Thursday. And I'm going to my brother's place today dahil sinabi niya na he has something to say. Something IMPORTANT.

I just woke up. And may appointment ako with my 'oh so busy brother' at 10AM. Yes. BUSY. Though Cherreen got pregnant, and though he wanted to stay with her to take care of her while she is pregnant, hindi naman pumayag si Cherreen. Of course, ayaw niya daw kasing magpa baby kay Axel. Kaya, back to work si Kuya. And they also changed their mind. They want the baby to be born here, instead in London para daw andito nga ang family.

So anyway, back to me and Ara. We're good. I'm planning to have a proposal 2.0 soon! And sana, YES na! Pero, wala nanamang problema na makaka pigil eh? Right?

It's 7 in the morning and she's still sleeping. Aww. Ang baby ko, masyado yatang napagod sa pagpa party niya last night. You see, masyado kasing natuwa kasi magaling na siya kaya naman, nag party na. So anyway, I kissed her forehead before going out. I have to cook breakfast.

"Good morning." I heard her greet

"Morning, Bae" I replied with a smile.

"Dimples mo, ang lalim ha."

"Sayo lang kasi nagpapakita tong dimples ko eh." Sagot ko at ngumiti sa kaniya. I just earned a glare in reply

"Aga mo, ha.."

"Yup. I have a meeting with Axel."

"Mmmm. Can I go with you?" Tanong niya after mag timpla ng coffee

"Sorry. Sabi niya, ako lang daw eh. But if you want, punta ka nalang dun sa bahay. Para dun na tayo mag lunch. Diretso nalang kami dun ni Kuya."

"Pwede din." I finished cooking our breakfast and immediately served it for us to eat. Pancakes at hotdogs lang naman.

When we finished eating, she offered to wash the dishes. Habang ako naman, umakyat sa taas to prepare for my clothes

"Ara?" I asked while hugging her from the back.

"If I propose, will you say yes?" She stopped on what she's doing then she faced me. Dahil sobrang lapit ng mukha ko kanina sa kaniya when I was hugging her from the back, sobrang lapit na din ngayon ng mukha niya sa akin dahil humarap nga siya.

"Bat ko sasagutin yang tanong mo? Eh baka mamaya ipagkalat mo na sa tropa na engaged ma tayo hindi mo pa ako tinatanong." She laughingly said.

"Just incase. Diba? So...?"

"Bakit ba hindi ako nag yes nun?"

"Because of the secret." Sagot ko.

"Eh ngayon, may secret pa ba?" Umiling nalang ako.

"Edi.. Yes?" Naguguluhang sagot ko then was about to kiss her lips nung tumalikod siya sa akin.

"Wala akong sinabi ah." Pilyang sagot niya sa akin at tumawa ng palihim.

Ako naman, umiling nalang at nagnakaw ng halik sa cheeks niya. Then, tumakbo na pataas.

Sa relationship namin, Ara is always the boss. It's not that under ako. Gentleman lang talaga ako. If she doesn't want a kiss then I wont give her. If she doesn't want to do 'it' then we wont. I respect her of course.

After taking a bath and preparing myself, bumaba na ako. Paalis na sana ako nang makita ko si Ara na bihis na bihis at nakaupong nagiintay sa may sala.

"Oh? Aalis ka din?" Curious na tanong ko sa kaniya.

"Duh. Hindi naman pwedeng gagala ka tas ako tutunganga lang dito sa bahay?" Shenlaughed then fixed herself. Tumayo na siya at nanalamin muna bago mag salita ulit.
"Tara." sabi niya at nauna nang lumabas. Seriously? HAHAHA basta gala talaga, game na game si Ara eh.

"Eh, san ka pupunta?" Tanong ko sa kaniya habang nagda drive.

"Kina Mika. Manggugulo." Our talk was interrupted when I got a facetime call.

"Si Arra." sabi ko. So, I quickly answered it.

"Hi guys!" bati niya sa amin at nag wave pa.

"Kamusta na, future Mrs. Horvejkul?" Pang aasar sa kaniya ni Ara.

"Eh. Tigilan mo nga ako. Nae excite ako lalo eh." Pabebeng sagot ni Arra.

"Pabebe, no?" Pangaasar ko sa kaniya. While still driving of course.

"Bwisit ka! Wag kang magpapakita sa akin ha!" inis na sagot sa akin ni Arra

"Edi, hindi ako pupunta sa kasal mo"

"Wag. Walang makakasama si Ara."

"Nako, best friend. Okay lang. Nakapunta nga ako dyan sa Thailand magisa diba? Kaya ko yan! Isa pa, nakakasawa na din kasing kasama to eh" sagot sa kaniya ni Ara. Aba. Nag kampi pa ang dalawa ah.

"Sige, babe. Kampihan mo pa!"

"Joke. Alam mo namang mahal na mahal kita diba?" Sabi pa ni Ara at hinalikan ako. With Arra looking at us.

"Eww. SPG. Ugh, gross!" reklamo nito.

"tumigil ka nga. Bat ka ba napatawag. Ha?"

"Just wanted to say something."

"Sige. Ano yun?"

"Remember my brother? Aejhay?" She asked. Natahimik naman si Ara. Yes. She doesn't know that Arra had a brother

"Oh. What's the problem?"

"You know, he's insane. Hindi pa din siya magaling."
"He's missing. And we know that he's there in the Philippines. Kaya please, if he does something stupid there, wag kayong maniniwala. He has a mind problem. You know that, Thomas." sabi sa akin ni Arra.

I just nodded then told her not to worry. I got this.

We later reached Mika's place kaya naman dinrop ko na si Ara.

"I'll pick you later, okay? Love you!" sabi ko at nagnakaw ng halik sa kaniya.

"Opo. Drive safely okay? Love you too!"

When I reached the company dumiretso agad ako sa office ni Axel. Then naabutan ko siya na may mga papers na binabasa.

"I've been receiving these letters for the past years." sabi niya at inabot sa akin ang mga papeles. And to my surprise..

Hi, Ara. This is me, Arra. You may have been in the Philippines by now.
The moment you read this, malamang you're already enjoying a
Cup of coffee while sitting on your dorm's veranda.
And the moment you read this, Ara, nasa Italy na ako.
Yes. You read it right. I lied about giving my heart to Thomas.
It wasn't really my first choice to give my heart to him.
Duh. I'm not stupid to kill myself just for someone else's happiness.
Oo. Selfish na kung selfish. Pero Ara. Mahal ko si Thomas
Ayokon mawala sa mundo niya permanently.
Sinabi ko lang yun para mapaalis ka na.

As I read the letter, hindi ko alam kung maiinis ako o masasaktan. After all these years?!

"Please tell me that this is not from Arra." Kalmado pero galit na sabi ko.

" hindi ko alam. But I've been receiving that letter for years! Non stop bro!" Reklamo sa akin ni Axel at pinanghilamos sa mukha niya yung palad niya.

"But there is a chance."

"Bro. I'm telling you. I've already met this Aejhay San Agustin at feeling ko talaga siya ang may kagagawan eh."

"Thomas.. I I..." our conversation was interrupted when I saw Ara on the door.
