Chapter 29: Permanent Vacation

Ashton's P.O.V.

You know when you see photos of places and they look tiny, then you see them in real life and you're like WOAAAH IT'S HUGE? Yeah, looking out from my spot behind the drum kit, the O2 arena is fucking massive. I'm either going to get really emotional, pee my pants, or both.

Attractive.

"What'ye thinkin about there bud?" The familiar Irish accent put a smile on my face as I turned around to see Niall walking onto the stage.

"Nothing much." I shrugged. "Do you know how many people this place holds?"

"Er, 20,000 I think." He responded casually, sitting down cross-legged next to me.

My eyes must have popped out of their sockets because he started chuckling. "Don't worry about it. Block everything out and you'll be grand. Don't see this as touring, just view it as a permanent vacation."

I smiled half-heartedly. "I'm trying to, but it's just so overwhelming... What if your fans hate us?"

"Are you joking? Ever since Lou posted the link to your YouTube channel it's been 5SOS this 5SOS that wherever we go. The fans can't wait to see you perform live." He said seriously, and the genuine nature of his voice put me at ease instantly.

He was right. Me and the boys have worked extremely hard on our performance and the songs we've written. Even if only one person in the audience likes our music, that's one more person than we had before.

"Thanks Niall, for everything." I smiled gratefully.

"Ah not at all. Now go and see Aoife, she's looking for ye." He patted me on the back.

I heard her laugh before I saw her face, and the sweet sound brought a strange yet comforting feeling to my heart. How can she have such a crazy effect on me? I followed the sound and sure enough it led me to the 5SOS dressing room. Opening the door, I grinned at the sight of Michael and Aoife playing Mario Kart, while Cake were running around playing tag like the cute couple they are.

I glanced at the TV screen just in time to see Mike crashing into Aoife's kart which sent her flying off the Rainbow Road. "You little shit!" She shouted while giggling at the same time. It was adorable.

"Michael you killed Yoshi you monster!" I laughed, causing everyone to turn around.

"ASHTON!" They all yelled in unison.

"We missed you." Luke pouted.

"I've literally been gone for like, twenty minutes?" These children are hyper as fuck.

"37 actually." Calum corrected, showing me the timer on his phone.

"You timed how long I was gone?" I wasn't sure whether to be majorly creeped out or to brush it off. Seeing as it's Cal, I opted for the latter.

"Just in case something awful happened, like you got stage fright and ran back to Sydney." He joked, punching me on the shoulder.

"I don't really think that would work, what with the oceans getting in my way, but alright." I replied sarcastically, winking at Aoife as she laughed.

He blushed. "Oh I'm sorry, Mr Geography."

"You know we love you Cal. You're just so damn easy to wind up." I chuckled.

"Bitch please, just 'cause I'm fabulous." He rested his hands on his hips and pulled a ridiculous pose, causing everyone to burst into hysterics.

"Such a dork." Michael mumbled affectionately.

"Stop being cute, my Malum heart can't take it." Aoife sighed dramatically, clutching her chest.

"FUCK OFF!"
