Aoife's P.O.V.
"I'm hungry, do you want some lunch?" Luke asked as we stumbled across a quiet café next to the beach.
"Sure." I beamed.
We sat down on one of the outside tables and were soon greeted by a waiter. Once he had taken our orders; I leaned back in the straw chair and soaked in the gorgeous sunshine.
"I didn't say it earlier but... y-you look really nice today." Luke smiled shyly, his dimples poking out.
I could feel myself blushing furiously. This was always a struggle I had when receiving compliments, "thanks." I looked down to hide my red cheeks, and the fact that I was grinning like an idiot.
"Any time." He winked. God, he's been spending way too much time with Calum. "So, Aoife... tell me about yourself." He said.
"What do you want to know?" I asked.
"Anything. Everything." He responded. He seemed to be gaining confidence the more we spoke.
"Everything, eh? That could take a while." I said playfully, making him chuckle.
"We have all day." He assured me.
I pondered different things I could tell him. I wasn't the most interesting or diverse person; I was pretty straight forward. No secret talents, no unforgettable life experiences. I just had a normal, ordinary, boring life. "I can't really think of anything... just ask me something."
He nodded his head and furrowed his eyebrows, obviously thinking of what to ask me, "okay, what's your favourite colour?"
"Green." I smiled.
"Favourite band?"
"Hmm..." Tricky question. I was a teeny weeny bit obsessed with bands, "All Time Low." I finally decided.
He nodded approvingly. "Celebrity crush?"
Shit. How do I choose just one? "Paul Wesley."
"Who?" He enquired.
"He plays Stefan in The Vampire Diaries." I told him.
"Oh, I've never seen it..." He frowned.
"I have the first season on DVD. You should come round and watch it sometime- I mean- uh- only if you want to." I stammered, mentally face palming myself. Smooth Aoife, real smooth.
"I'd love to." He smiled widely, revealing his perfectly white teeth.
Our food arrived and we chatted and laughed the whole way through lunch. He was really great company. Not to mention incredibly easy on the eye. I was actually glad Ashton had set us up. There was no denying the slight spark between Luke and I. For some reason, we just clicked. Maybe Ash felt that too, and that's why he's done this? Who knows. But either way, I'll have to thank him for this. Thank him for introducing me to such a lovely guy.
A guy that could turn out to be my cure.
Ashton's P.O.V.
This was completely insane. Me and Michael were crouching behind a large rock; watching intently as Luke and Aoife descended onto the beach. This wasn't me. I felt like an undercover agent, for crying out loud. I didn't want to do this. It seemed like they were both having an amazing time together. Why spoil that? Plus, it was highly likely that the pair of them would never want to speak to me again if they knew what I was planning on doing.
Half of me wanted to stay true to myself and just leave. But the other half of me, the more dominant half, willed me to stay where I was. I needed to do this.
They found an empty spot in the sand and sat down. Luke's arm was now draped casually over Aoife's shoulder. Jealousy bubbled in the pit of my stomach and I clenched my jaw.
"Let's go now." I whispered, starting to stand up.
"Wait!" Michael shouted quietly, pulling me back down.
"What? Why?" I asked impatiently.
He was glancing around the beach, whipping his head from left to right every thirty seconds. What the hell was he doing? Could he not see them?
"Mike, they're right there." I subtly pointed towards where they were sitting.
"I know where they are." He hissed.
"Then what are we waiting for?" I demanded.
"Just stop talking." He sent me a cold glare.
"Not until you explain what's going on. This was your idea, remember? You forced me into this! Don't pull out now!"
"Actually, Ashton, I didn't force you into anything. You wanted to do this just as much as I did!" He stated.
"Okay, fine, you win. Ashton has finally been corrupted by the one and only Michael Gordon Clifford. Congratulations. Now can we get on with the task at hand?" I replied sarcastically.
He shook his head firmly, "we have to wait."
"FOR WHAT?" I yelled in frustration.
Just as he opened his mouth to speak, a tall figure approached us from behind, casting a shadow over the bright sand. Michael looked up and gulped audibly.
Turning around, I was faced with the last person I wanted to see.
Matt.
"Sorry boys, am I late?"
