Ashton's P.O.V.

"What the hell are you doing here?" I tried to keep a level head; but all I really wanted to do was knock him out.

"Didn't your friend tell you? Tut tut, Mikey." He chuckled darkly.

I turned back to Michael, "what's he talking about?" I asked.

He looked at me apologetically. "I'm sorry, Ashton."

"Did you arrange this with him?" I demanded.

He nodded slowly. I could feel my eyes start to sting with the tears that threatened to spill out.

"Why?" My voice was barely above a whisper. I coughed loudly to remove the huge lump from my throat.

Of all the people who could betray me, why Michael? He's the one who brought me into the band to begin with. He's the one that's always had my back. How could he do this?

"Please just let me expla-"

"No. I don't want to hear another word." I cut him off, turning back to Matt. "Look, I'm so fucking sick and tired of you. Aoife's moved on, and she has every right to. You abused her. You made her feel worthless. Now she's finally starting to feel happy again; she's back to her old self. Just leave her alone god dammit!" I was shouting now, so loud I was sure Luke and Aoife would turn around at any moment and spot us.

"That's the thing; I don't want to leave her alone. I want to make every single minute of every single day a complete misery for her." He smirked. Keep calm, Ashton.

"You're pathetic, you know that?"

He just shrugged; the ridiculous smirk still plastered to his face.

"Ashton?"

I spun around to see Aoife approaching us. Luke following closely behind. He looked completely bewildered; poor bloke.

She stopped beside me and looked around at the three of us. The tension in the air was so thick you could cut it with a knife.

"Look who finally decided to show up." Matt said sarcastically.

She didn't even look in his direction. "What's going on?" She directed the question at me, but it was Matt who answered.

"We're having a reunion. Isn't it obvious?" He chuckled.

"Shut the fuck up." Michael spat.

"Aww c'mon, Mikey. Let's not forget you're the reason I'm here." He stepped forward so there was no space between us.

Aoife and Luke both turned their attention towards Michael, "what?" They asked in unison.

"It's a long story." I told them before he had a chance to answer.

"Mikey's been a naughty boy." Matt laughed.

"Why are you even here?" She shouted at him in exasperation.

"There's something I want from you." He grinned.

"What? You already took everything from me! What more could you possibly want?" Aoife shoved him; hard. She was already in tears.

"That was a mistake, darlin'." He snarled, slapping her with such force that she fell backwards.

I couldn't even control what I was doing. All I could see was red. I hated him. I hated him so fucking much. I grabbed a hold of his t-shirt and launched my fist at his face. He twisted my arm behind my back and chucked us both onto the ground. He kicked me in the stomach so hard it winded me. His arms were colliding with my own as I attempted to block my face. I turned him over so that I was on top and threw another punch. I could feel arms trying to pull me off him; which I assumed were Michael's.

"Get off me!" I yelled, kicking Matt as Michael pulled me to my feet.

"Stop! Ashton stop!" He demanded. I elbowed him in the ribs but his grip never loosened. "He's had enough, stop." He said more calmly as my arms grew tired.

Matt rolled onto his chest and stood up using his hands and knees. His forehead was cut pretty badly and his shirt was drenched in blood. "One day, Irwin, you'll get what's coming to you." He threatened, limping away just as he had that day at the skateboard park.

I scoffed. Empty threats were all he was good for.

I looked over at Aoife who was now propped up against the rock.

"Are you okay?" I rushed over to her side, tilting her chin slightly to examine her swollen cheek.

"Are you?" She replied.

"I'm fine." I sighed.

She smiled weakly, "then I'm fine, too."

I stoked her cheek soothingly as her eyes bored into mine. I could see the hurt and the pain in them, but also the slight glimmer of relief that I was okay. A warm feeling spread through me and in that moment, everything was worth it.

"Can you take me home?" She asked, looking between Luke and I.

I squeezed her hand. "Of course, sweetie."

We both helped her up and started to make our way to my car. I took one last glance at Michael. He was a broken mess and a part of me felt guilty. But then I remembered: he betrayed me.

A/N: So, as you probably guessed, Matt was the Mystery POV in chapter 8 :)

Also, sorry if the fight scene was a bit graphic. I was trying to make it as realistic as possible so I hope it didn't make any of you feel uncomfortable.

Stay tuned for the next chapter ;) x
