Can't let the story end here... I ship Ashfe too hard ;)

Ashton's P.O.V.

"D'you wanna get out of here?" I quietly asked Aoife as she handed the controller to Luke in defeat.

She lost pretty hard to Mike. She needs to get better at video games.

"Sure." She smiled and took my hand as we made our way out of the dressing room, through the hall and into the empty arena.

"Crazy how eerie it is." I breathed, looking around at the empty seats which were soon to be filled by thousands of people.

"Well it is lunch time." She joked. "Why else would Niall abandon his most prized possession?"

I looked over at the stage. She was right. Niall's gorgeous Fender, which you could normally find hung protectively across him, was now laying in the middle of the floor, begging for attention. I walked over and picked it up with the intention of placing it in a safer spot, but those strings just needed to be plucked.

During our time apart, I'd really been exploring my talents. Writing music had always been a passion of mine, but since being on the road, the lyrics just seemed to come so easily. I'd never felt so many emotions all at once, and Aoife is the biggest part of that. She's my inspiration.

"Take a seat, m'lady." I ushered to the front row while grabbing a stool of my own. There was something about being sat down while playing an acoustic. Reminded me of the old school covers we used to upload to YouTube. Cringe-worthy, but in the end, those are what got us recognised.

"Ha, what? I thought I was with the drummer." She raised an eyebrow, but took a seat anyway.

"Nah, I strum." I winked.

She rolled her eyes in the goofy way that she does, before smiling widely as I began singing the song I wrote for her.

For a while we pretended

That we never had to end it

But we knew we'd have to say goodbye

You were crying at the airport

When they finally closed the plane door

I could barely hold it all inside

Torn in two

And I know I shouldn't tell you

But I just can't stop thinking of you

Wherever you are

You, Wherever you are

Every night I almost call you

Just to say it always will be you

Wherever you are

I finished singing and opened my eyes to see Aoife knelt directly in front of me. She gently removed the guitar from around my neck and placed it down beside her. Bringing my face down to hers, she kissed me with a force I didn't know she had in her. It said a thousand words without her needing to utter a single syllable. We pulled away at the same time, keeping our foreheads pressed together and our arms around each other.

"You're perfect, Ashton. We won't ever need to say goodbye, will we?" Her voice was sad, and I could see tears pricking the corners of her eyes. She fought them, though. I guess everything she'd been through allowed her to find the strength in herself.

The strength we all knew she had from the beginning.

"Not if I have anything to do with it." I assured her. "It doesn't matter where in the world I am. You'll always be right here." I gestured towards my heart. I'm so hopelessly romantic I even make myself feel sick at times.

"Well..." Her voice trailed off into silence as she bit her lip.

"What?" I encouraged.

She took a deep breath before responding. "What if... I toured with you?"

Ok Ash, don't say 'yes' too quickly.

"YES!" I practically screamed. Fuck sake.

"Really?" She squealed, engulfing me in a huge hug and tackling me to the ground.

I attacked her entire face with chaste kisses, saying 'yes' after every one. She was going to tour with us. My best friend and favourite person in the whole universe was going to be by my side while I made my dreams a reality. This is too epic. I'm the luckiest man alive.

"Come on." I said, helping her to her feet. "Let's tell the others."

We practically ran back to the dressing room to break the amazing news. All the guys were so pumped, giving us endless hugs and high fives. The whole gang was here, finally.

I couldn't wait for the show tonight.
