Aoife's P.O.V.

I rolled over, yanking the covers back up and tucking them under my chin. The time on my clock read 8:31 am, but I had zero motivation to get up. I felt completely drained after the events of yesterday and all I really wanted to do was stay in bed and eat cookies. Luke and Calum had come back to mine for a bit last night but refused to sleep over. To tell the truth, I was kind of glad. It would've been pretty awkward sharing the flat with two complete strangers. Although they're Ashton's band mates, I still don't know them that well. Plus, Calum was doing my head in.

~ Flashback to last night ~

"This is crazy. Let's just call it a day." Calum huffed as we strolled along a random road.

"Not until we find them." I replied, determined.

"But it's getting dark!" He said in exasperation.

I looked up at the sky and was shocked to see the stars twinkling away. How long had we been out here?

"Cal's right." Luke interjected.

"Look," I spun around, tears pricking the corners of my eyes, "if you guys want to go home, fine. I can look for them by myself."

"Aoife, what makes you think that they're not already tucked up in bed themselves? Nothing bad has happened to them. In fact, they're probably at Michael's place right now eating pizza or something." Luke smiled reassuringly.

Since losing my parents, Ashton has become the most precious thing in my life. The thought of losing him too is unbearable. That's why I'm so desperate to know he's okay.

"Come on, let's get you home."  He flung his arm over my shoulder as I guided us back to my flat. Calum followed closely behind; muttering about how he missed his favourite TV show.

Once we finally arrived, I insisted that they both came in for a cup of tea. They rummaged through my almost empty fridge as I flicked the kettle on.

"Where's all your food?" Calum whined, picking up a packet of out-of-date cheese.

"I haven't done any shopping this week." I admitted.

Luke closed the fridge door and sighed. "It's okay. I wasn't really hungry anyway."

I smiled a genuine, happy smile for the first time today. He was being so kind and considerate of my feelings. It was tough living alone at only 17 years old and the last thing I wanted was for people to think that I couldn't take care of myself.

"Speak for yourself." Calum grumbled.

"Will you shut up already? You've been moaning the whole damn evening." Luke snapped.

Calum stared at his best friend, clearly surprised by his outburst. Then he looked at me apologetically, "I'm sorry... I shouldn't have been so rude. I'm just really tired. I'm not normally like this, honestly."

"Don't worry about it." I shrugged, handing him a warm mug of milky tea.

"Thanks." He smiled.

We watched crappy TV and talked for a couple of hours until Luke yawned loudly and stood up.
