Ashton's P.O.V.
I pulled the warm duvet over mine and Aoife's intertwined bodies. It's been three weeks since the band got back together, so our schedule's been pretty busy with rehearsals and song writing. I hadn't seen much of Aoife as a result of it, so little moments like these were becoming precious. I can't ever imagine what would happen if the band made it big, if we ever did a world tour... How would I leave her?
She rested her head on my chest and sighed contently. My arms automatically wrapped around her, squeezing her closer to me. I just love her so much. Sometimes I think my heart could burst with how powerfully I care for her.
"What are you thinking about?" She looked up at me, examining my face in ways only she could.
"You." I whispered playfully, rubbing my nose gently against hers.
She blushed the deepest shade of red and smiled cutely. God, she's beautiful.
"What about me?" She enquired, raising her eyebrows.
"Just... I really do love you, you know that, right?" I asked seriously.
She giggled quietly before smiling up at me. "Of course I do, I think you've proved it enough times." She winked cheekily.
I grinned widely. "Too many times?" I teased.
"Never." We both laughed.
- The next day -
Don't ask me why I'm sat in an office right now, surrounded by the other lads, waiting for whatever was coming our way. We each got a phone call early this morning from our manager, telling us to arrive here as soon as possible, because there was some "important business" to discuss. I glanced around anxiously and noticed Luke chewing on his bottom lip - a sure sign he was nervous, too. Calum seemed his usual calm self, but then he's got a good poker face. And Michael, well, just looked like he'd rather be in bed.
Soon enough, our manager, Rob, entered the room with another man following close behind.
He was big-built, with dark hair and kind eyes.
"Lads, thank you for coming in so early, this is Paul Higgins." Rob pointed to the gentlemen next to him.
"Alright, fella's." He said with a thick, Irish accent.
"G'day." We all chorused - typical Aussie's.
Rob coughed once before speaking again. "So, you're probably wondering what's going on. Paul, would you like to explain?"
"Certainly." Paul smiled. I like him already. "It's nice to meet you guys. I'm actually here on behalf of a very popular boyband back in the UK. You may have heard of them, they're called One Direction?" He posed it as a question.
Well DUH, I've heard of One Direction. They've taken the music world by storm, and What Makes You Beautiful is my JAM.
"Of course we know them." Michael laughed, causing us all to join in.
"Thought you would, silly question. Anyway, I'll just cut to the chase. Next year they're set to tour the world with their latest album, Take Me Home. And they'd very much like you guys to support them on that tour." He smiled.
I think my mouth just about hit the floor. Am I hearing this right? THE One Direction want US - a tiny band from Sydney - to support them on their WORLD TOUR?
I might faint.
"Are you... Is this a wind-up?" Luke asked, disbelief clear in his voice.
"No, this is very much real." Paul smiled.
I'm feeling a bit light-headed. This is too many feelings all at once. I'm gonna puke.
"Obviously you don't have to, it's 100% your choice. But this would certainly be the platform you need to make it big." Rob said.
We all looked to each other for some sort of response. But all that we could manage were blank expressions. Let's just think about this, 5SOS is a pop-rock band. One Direction are a bubblegum pop group. It's not really what we're going for; but touring with them, playing to hundreds of thousands of people every single night... that's what we've always dreamed of.
This is our dream. Our one and only opportunity. We'd be fools to refuse this.
I guess we've got some thinking to do.
