Aoife's P.O.V.
The road ahead of me seemed endless. A never-ending lane of dark fog. I wasn't sure of the time, although the dim lighting of the street suggested it was past midnight. My whole body shook with fear as I glanced around at my surroundings. How did I even end up here? Last thing I remembered was lying on my couch; snuggled up in a cozy blanket with Ashton's arm draped over me. I felt comfortable. I felt safe.
This, however, definitely did not feel safe.
My feet shuffled forward without my permission, moving cautiously as my frantic eyes scanned the deserted street once again. The eerie silence and stillness of everything only added to my terror, making my legs move faster.
Suddenly I came to a halt.
Just a few metres away from me stood a large group of girls. Probably five or six. Immediately I went into panic mode and froze on the spot.
Maybe if I turn around now they won't notice me; I thought.
It was no use though. My feet refused to listen to my brain as my body stood its ground.
One of the girls spotted me and nudged her friends side. Within a second of this; the whole gang had turned their full attention towards me. I wanted to run away, but my legs wouldn't allow me to. I wanted to speak, but my mouth wouldn't open.
I was just stood still, staring at them while they stared back at me.
"Whatcha lookin' at?" One of the girls shouted obnoxiously. She made her way over to me while the rest followed. From this simple action I knew she was the ring-leader.
"N-nothing." I stuttered.
"You sure?" She got right in my face. Although the dim street lighting made it hard for me to see, I noticed she had dyed red hair and brown eyes.
"Y-yes." Why couldn't I fucking talk properly?
"You shouldn't be out here at night. All alone." She smirked evilly.
"I-m g-going home n-now." I struggled to get the sentence out.
She just laughed, causing her back-up crew to chuckle with her.
"No you're not." She said simply.
Before I had time to react, she grabbed my shoulders with force and slammed me against the cold ground. The harshness of her actions contrasted with the gentle smile on her face.
"You have two options. Either give me all your money now and walk free; or put up a fight and I'll make sure you never see another day." She stated sweetly.
"I-I don't h-have any money." I cried.
"Wrong answer." She hissed.
Her friends surrounded me and in no time I was being beaten mercilessly.
"No! Please! Please stop!" I choked out as tears streamed down my face.
"Aoife?!" I heard a faint but familiar voice call from the distance.
"Ashton! Ashton help!" I screamed so loud I thought my lungs might explode.
"Aoife!" He yelled louder. That was weird, it sounded like he was right next to me. "Wake up!"
My eyes snapped open and my body lurched forward. I was aware of strong arms wrapped around me tightly.
