Chapter 23: The Past Me.

I watched as the other foster kids ran around the back yard playing tag. I was the odd one out in the foster home. I had arrived two days ago. I didn't know how I ended up here or why I did. All I know is the words "Be safe Ali, I'll be back soon." And I was in front of Mel, the foster mom. They were nice, but I was still confused. Suddenly Dex, one of the older boys came my way with a smile on his face.

"Hey there." He said taking a seat next to me. I gave him a small smile before going back to an emotionless face. I was still trying to figure out who were my parents and why I'm here. "Why aren't you playing with the other kids?" He asked. I shrugged, not talking back. I heard him sigh.

"DEX, COME ON!" A girl named Abby yelled. She was Amy's best friend. She gave me a glare but returned to being sweet to Dex when he walked over to her. I sighed and got up. Across the yard was another girl, I believe her name was Rae. She was just drawing. I walked inside to the room I was staying in. I didn't know if I was going to stay long, but I had hoped not. I heard footsteps coming after me, I assumed it was one of the foster kids. I felt the person grip my wrist before pushing me against the wall. Hard might I add.

I grunted and closed my eyes. I slowly opened my eye and glared at the person who I come to realize was Abby. She was glaring at me hard. For crying out loud I was only 5! She opened her mouth to say something but was cut off by Keegan's voice.

"What's going on?" Keegan asked. We both turned to the guy. He had his arms crossed. Abby gave him a innocent smile, why that little!

"Oh, nothing, just was about to ask why Ali left!" She said. Keegan didn't buy the story and told her to get out. Which started a yelling match. Amy had yelled at Keegan cause he was kicking out her best friend for no reason and random stuff like that. I sat with my arms crossed, a scrowl on my face.

"AMY MARIE GO TO YOUR ROOM NOW!" Mel yelled. For the past two days that I've known her, she never yells. Amy storms off to her room.

"Sweetheart did Abby do anything else?" Mel asked crouching down to my level. I gave a stiff shake of my head, still not meeting her eyes. She grabbed my chin and softly lifted it up so I could look at her. She sighed before nodding.

"If anyone ever does that to you again, you come tell us okay?" I suddenly got angry. I gave a cold glare to Keegan.

"I can take care of myself!" I screamed at him. Everyone in the room fell silent.

"Sweetie calm down." Mel said rubbing her hands up and down my arms trying to get me to cool down. I jerked out of her grip. One thing you do not tell someone with anger issues is to calm down. No matter how pissed they are. It will make them angry and most likely land you in a hospital with something broken . . . or missing.

I grabbed whatever was close to me and threw it. It hit Keegan in the jaw. All of us stood frozen in shock. Me including. I felt myself run to my room before slamming the door closed. I felt tears prick at my eyes. Why couldn't I just have a normal life with a family!

**Later that night Dream**

My body felt cold, like I was in an ice block. I looked around, realizing I'm taller than I normally am. I looked down and saw that I was in a white gown. One that reminded me of a brides dress. I heard a twig snap and looked up. A guy with dark brown hair and beautiful hazel eyes. They held hurt, confusion and love.

"Ali, why did you run?" He asked, his voice gruff but smooth at the same time. I couldn't respond, or at least I didn't want to. Suddenly his eyes grew red. "You left me." He growled his voice demoinitic. Blood started to pour out of his chest. His skin started to fall off. It looked like a horror movie.
