It has already been an hour, and Tyler was still keeping up a genuine conversation. Quite frankly, I'm very surprised at that. Every time a topic ends, I expect him to come up with a gory, dirty topic, but every time, I'm proved wrong.
Currently, we're talking about children (which is kind of awkward for me, but oh well).
"I'm just saying that my real child will be spoiled," he said earnestly.
Looking up at him skeptically, I replied calmly, "And I'm just saying you hardly want the fake one."
"That's not tru-"
The sound of my phone ringing cut off Tyler's sentence. Smirking at him, I fished my phone out of my pocket.
"Hello?"
"Where the hell are you?" muttered Vanessa irritably.
"I'm with Tyler," I said glancing at the boy, "Why? What's wrong?
"Robo-brat won't freaking shut up!"
"That's it? I thought someone was kidnapped. You are seriously a drama queen," I said rolling my eyes.
"It's. Not. A. Small. Thing. Do something or you're last breath is creeping closer," said Vanessa, sounding more irritated than ever.
"Just calm it down by using the bracelet I gave you."
"What bracelet?"
"Uh, the silver bracelet- the one I gave you, ring a bell?"
"Destiny, there is no bracelet here," said Vanessa firmly.
"Of course there is," I sighed looking down. Suddenly a glittering jewelry caught my eye. Wincing at Vanessa's sudden increase in volume, I replied nervously to her retort.
"Um, Vanessa, I have the bracelet. But there should be two!" I added quickly.
"WE HAVE NO BRACELET ON US! DO YOU UNDERSTAND THAT OR DO I HAVE TO HIT YOUR HEAD WITH A HAMMER SO YOU FINALLY DO UNDERSTAND?"
"Uh, sorry..."I trailed off.
"Just get your ass in my house, or else you're dead, Destiny Marie Cruz."
"Yeah, yeah," I said getting up and gesturing Tyler to do the same, "No need to get your panties in a twist. I'll be at your place in about 45 minutes. Okay? Yeah, bye," That being said, I hung up without waiting for her reply.
"Come on, let's go," I said tugging Tyler's sleeve.
"So what happened, Destiny Marie Cruz?" he asked smirking.
"Since you know my full name," I replied dryly, "I'm guessing you know the whole conversation, so let's go. And fast. The Robo-baby is in danger," I added.
"The robo-baby has a name, buttercup, and it's Chloe," said Tyler stepping closer to me.
"Does it really matter?"
"As a matter of fact, sweetheart, it does," he said coming even closer so that he was only a few inches apart. Before I got lost in his eyes, I turned around.
"Whatever, let's just go," I said, grabbing his hand and guiding him out of the diner. Ignoring the people's fawning looks at us was easy, but ignoring the tingles on my arm was tougher. Either I'm going mad, or I just like his hand in general. Personally, I think it's the first option. I do not and can not like any part of Tyler- not even his hand.
As Tyler took the lead and moved in front of me, a silver bracelet on his hand suddenly caught my eye. Frowning, I jerked him to a stop.
"What?" he asked turning back.
