Heading in the breeze-way, I spotted Vanessa. Although Vanessa and I had lived on the same street for almost our whole lives, we hadn't become friends till I was in 6th Grade and she was in 7th grade- mainly because I was too intimidated by her. Vanessa, from a very tender age, was known to be a mischievous person. When she was 3 years old, all the tables in her house 'mysteriously' turned green; when she was 9, someone had ' accidentally' put dung in her Uncle Simon's food; when she just turned 11, she 'might have' put spiders in a girl's lunchbox- the list goes on. The point is, Vanessa turned, from the mischievous kid down the street, to the badass girl down the street. I suppose she had always scared me with just one look. The only thing that was reassuring was that she was a short girl- well, shorter than me anyway.
Despite always being the bad kid, Vanessa was a cute kid- well, when she wasn't glaring at others and making enemies, she was a pretty cute kid- still is actually. What with her honey-brown hair, beautiful brown eyes, and her killer smile, she never had trouble in the 'boy-department'.
As I walked towards Vanessa, I noticed that she had a blank look on her face. Seeing how she's always a huge ball of energy, this was a very odd look on her. Either she's angry and glaring at everyone, or she's happy and smiling at everyone.
"What's wrong?" I asked when I reached her.
She looked up surprised, before realizing it was just me, "Oh nothing. I was just thinking," she shrugged nonchalantly.
"Thinking about what?" I furrowed my eyebrows before clearing my expression and looking at her, "Actually you know what? Thinking is a very bad habit- for you anyway. You over think and over analyze everything, and then you eventually get in a really bad mood. So don't think too much, got it?" I told her shaking a finger under her nose.
"Gotcha!" she smiled. Smiling back in response, I pulled her to the cafeteria, wanting to sit down and talk for a couple of minutes before the bell rang.
"By the way, I'm really sorry that I took so long. The demon children took forever to get ready. Who would've thought little kids put so much effort into looking good for school!"
She laughed, "Don't worry about it, I have the same problem with Jocelyn. It's such a chore to deal with kids."
"At least you have just one sister to handle; I have four freaking sisters to take care of!"
""Yeah well...I suppose I do get a little less drama."
"Sweetheart, a lot less drama- a lot less."

So far, today has certainly not been my day. For starters I forgot my algebra homework, which is a shame really. It was one of those few times when I had actually done it- I wanted bragging rights.
After that, my backpack ripped open, which means now I have to carry books around with my hands. And the icing on the cake was that it was my 'time of the month'. Out of all the days, it had to be the day I wore something white. Fortunately, I keep extra clothes in my locker for times like these. Thanking God for giving me a brain that actually gives me brilliant ideas like that, I changed into a white v-neck and skinny jeans.
After changing (and shoving my white dress inside my locker with a fury that would put Hulk to shame), I headed towards my 5th period class, which was Child Development. Honestly, although the class sounds lame, it's my favourite class. You can't really blame me, there's no real work here, and it's just plain fun. To top it off, I had with Ruby, talk about awesome!
Ruby is quite a bit like me once you warm up to her. She's pretty random as well as talkative, just like me. She has really long and shiny black hair that never messes up ( I get really jealous of that). Although she's taller than a few others, she is shorter than me, but then, it's very rare that I'm shorter than somebody. I'm just naturally a gigantic sized person.
