Tell Me the Real Reason You're Going on this Date

"Slow down!!" exclaimed my aunt from the passenger seat.

"Calm down we are here." I said smiling as I parked the car in front of Tino's. I love this little Mexican restaurant; this restaurant has so many memories of me growing up to just a few years ago.

*FLASHBACK*

It's sophomore year and my aunt is picking me up so I can help her do things before school starts. I love it when she takes me to school mainly because I always get breakfast and I always get to skip 1st period. Looking outside the window I see her pull up in her big Chevrolet van.

"Hey mom can we take Ruby to school?" I asked hoping she would say yes.

"I guess" she said with a sigh and a smile

"Yes!" I exclaimed

Babe hurry! Tia's taking us to school! <3

I quickly typed sending it off to Ruby.

*5 minutes later*

We are currently outside Ruby's house waiting for her.

"Go and call Ruby and tell her to hurry or I'm leaving her here!"

"Calm down Rex I'm going'!" I exclaimed.

"You know I hate it when you call me Rex!"

"I know Rex that's why I do it" I said smiling. I call her Rex at times mainly because she has short arms like a T-Rex and her skin is very tough; when she goes to get blood taken out the nurses use a different type of needle than they would use on different people.

"RUBY!" I call out entering her house

"Over her, in the kitchen, babe!"

"What the hell? We're gunna be late!"

"You act like we go to first period when Tia takes us to school." She said with a serious face

"Last time we almost missed 2nd period! The only reason we skip first is because it's an elective babe." I said smiling

As we walked back to the car my aunt called out "Took ten years Ruby!", and then started the car back up.

"Mom. Mom. Mom. Mom." I call out until she got annoyed and yelled out a 'what!'

"Do we have to go to school?" I asked pleading

"Mija you almost have truancy."

"So I can miss one more day as long as I send in a note!" I said smiling hoping she will give in

"I don't know plus we have Ruby and she has to go to school..." she quickly got cut off by Ruby.

"No I don't Tia!! My mom won't get mad! I promise I just have to tell her you got sick and that we had to go to your house plus Tia my mom freaking loves you! As long as I'm with you my mom doesn't care!" Ruby said smiling.

"Are you girls sure?" she asked quite unsure herself.

"Yes!" we both said in unison

"Ok well I guess so." She said in defeat. "I have to go pay loans in McKinney anyways. Destiny you will get off to pay them with Ruby." She said now smiling

"Ok mom only because it will take too much time to get you on and off of the car." I said smiling very happy I didn't have to go to school today.
