"We are gathered here today to pay our last respects to Carmen Cantu Arguello. . . ." I feel numb; I am in complete utter shock. She was just here yesterday; I talked to her. She couldn't be gone. "Ash to ash dust to dust. . " I blocked out whatever else the pastor said. It all didn't matter anymore, the one person in my life that completely understood me and loved me for who I was is now gone. "Destiny!" called my cousin snapping me out of my thoughts "It is your turn to drop some dirt onto mom." Nodding my head in response I walked up to the hole that was 6 feet deep and dropped my dirt and whispered ever so softly "I love you mom." and walked off. As I walked out from under the tent it started pouring rain, without a single care in the world I screamed. I screamed until I couldn't scream anymore. "Destiny. . .Destiny. . Destiny!!" I heard from afar looking around I found no one in sight. "Destiny . . .Destiny!!"

I awoke. Thank god it was just a dream. I thought. looking around my room I spotted my mom.

"What time is it?"

"7:30." she said

"Oh My God I'm late again!" I jumped out of bed.

"Don't worry I'll take the girls to school you won't be late if you hurry."

"Thanks mom!" I said giving her a kiss on the cheek

I decided on an orange floral sheer shirt with a black blazer and skinny dark blue jeans, as for my shoes I chose my Sperry's. I let my hair go all natural today since it seemed like a nice day out.

Could this day be any longer? I feel like it has just dragged on, and I don't know how much more of this platonic day I can take. It's now lunch and I am in my own world; I can't wait to get home. After two years of trying to convince my aunt to come and live with us she finally is moving in. I am tempted to skip the rest of the school day just so I could go home and see her. "Are you listening?!" asked Ruby

"What? I'm sorry its just that Tia is finally coming to live with us and I'm so happy." I said a smile breaking onto my face.

"Really? That's great!" said Vanessa and Ruby.

"What is or who is Tia?" asked Kyle confused

"Tia is Spanish for aunt." I explained

"Oh. . ." was all he could say. I don't blame the kid he probably doesn't know what to say. The rest of the lunch period was spent talking mainly to Kyle about how he likes Dallas so far and how San Antonio was.

"You know guys I think I'm just gunna go home after lunch." I said

"Why?!" asked all the of them in unison.

"Well I really want to go home and see Tia." I said and before they could argue with "you have to stay you're gunna miss a lot" the bell rang.

Walking out to the student parking lot, I started to search for my keys when I felt a pair of strong arms grasp my arm and tug me into them. Looking up it was no suprise who it was: Tyler.

"Buttercup class is the other direction."

"Tyler why do you care?" I asked annoyed because he is cutting into valuable time. " I have to go."

"Where to? If I may ask." he said smirking

"Home." I simply stated. There was an awkward moment of silence between us as if he didn't know what to say next. "Bye Tyler, see you later." I said before I started to walk off.

"Wait can I come?" he asked in a hopeful tone. Uhh what?  The confusion in my face must've been clear because he then explained why. "I heard you were going to go home and see your aunt."

"How could you possibly have heard that so fast when I barely said it at the most 5 minutes ago?"

"I heard you talking on my way out of the cafeteria, thought maybe I could see her too, you know?"
