"So are you going to tell me?" asked Kyle. Breaking me out of my thoughts, we have been in his car for a while now we are currently stuck in traffic and I have not said one word.
"Where should I start?"
"I think the beginning." He said smiling causing me to chuckle.
"Right. Ok so it started this morning with my aunt, me and my aunt are really close like she is my second mom and I would do anything for her. So anyways this morning I went to wake her up and she wouldn't acknowledge me, like she completely ignored me. It hurt me so then I just decided to leave her alone thinking maybe she needed her rest, so I left for school. Then in 5th you know how Ms. Lindsey gave that long boring lecture about being good parents? Well I was falling asleep so Tyler decided it would be funny to crack an egg full of confetti on my head just so I could wake up. Anyways after the bell had rang for lunch Tyler said "I'll see you after school"" I said the last part in a deep voice causing Kyle to laugh. "So when Tyler said that I guess Ruby was behind us and she asked what that was supposed to mean and I honestly didn't know what it meant. So on our way to lunch remember how I was texting?" he gave me a nod as a response "ok well I was texting Tyler and he had said he canceled with Ruby so he and I could go on a date. . ." I soon got cut off by Kyle
"You guys are going out?!" he exclaimed
"What?! No! I was going to explain why I have to go on a date with him before you cut in." I said
"Oh . . . well go on."
"Like I said he said he canceled with Ruby so we could go on our date. The reason I have to go on a date with Tyler is because he thought he was a better baker than I am so we had a baking competition and when my aunt was talking to me we made her judge and if I won he had to take robo-baby for 2 weeks if he won then I had to go on a date with him. I lost so now I have to go on a date with him. Anyways he had wanted me to cancel on you just so him and I could go on our 'date' I told him no. I wasn't going to cancel on you for him so I asked why he canceled on ruby for he said she got boring and that's when it hit me I knew why Ruby was mad at me . . ." I soon got cut off again.
"That's why you laughed randomly at lunch and why you told Ruby you knew why she was mad!" exclaimed Kyle like he just solved an extremely hard math problem.
"Exactly."
"Is that why you were upset?"
"Yeah it hurts because my aunt is ignoring me and now one of my closest friends is ignoring me. To think of it Ruby was probably ignoring me this morning when I called out her name." Looking out the window of the car I noticed we were in the parking garage of the galleria, when I turned to unbuckle my seat belt I notice Kyle staring at me. "What? Do I have something on my face?" I asked smiling
"No. It's just that don't let them bring you down. Your aunt is probably really tired and needs her rest like you said and Ruby; well she is just caught up on a guy and isn't thinking about her friends. Don't worry everything will be fine." For some reason when he said this I believed him I didn't question it at all.
"Thanks Kyle." I said leaning in to give him a hug; it felt safe and warm, nothing could harm me.
As we walked into the galleria I thought I saw a familiar head of long black hair, when I turned to see if she was still there she had left. Must've been my imagination. I thought to myself.
"What do you want to do Kyle?" I asked with a smile on my face
"Let's go ice skating!" he said enthusiastically.
"Umm..."I said a little unsure. Truth is I don't know how to ice skate and I was afraid of making a fool of myself in front of him.
"Please" he asked while giving me the puppy dog face. Sighing in defeat I said "if you really want to."
