Matt Anderson.
That name was more than enough to ruin my eardrums. It's like... hearing his name was piercing thousands of needles inside my ears.
Matt greeted us while Drake was putting an arm around his shoulder.
I immediately turned around so that my back was facing Matt and Drake.
Megan, Maki, and Dona started introducing themselves. I locked my gaze on the floor, trying to hide my face. Kean was looking at me. He was pissed. His hand clenched, forming into a fist. This is no good. I bit my lips, staying calm as much as possible.
Hoping that Matt still hasn't recognized me yet, I opened my book and pretended to read. My hands were sweaty and my heart was beating like crazy.
"Hey Chloe, it's been a long time, hasn't it?"
My face flushed. I turned to look at him and did my very best to smile. What he did before shouldn't affect me right now. "Hey, fancy meeting you again," I told him, faking a smile. "Been a long time huh?"
"You know each other?" Megan asked me.
Matt nodded, smirking at me before he replied. "She was my-"
"My childhood friend," I cut him off immediately. Slip of tongue, Matt. Don't you ever dare say a word!
"Hey, that's nice," Dona smiled. Shut up Dona! I swear, if you talk more I'm gonna-
"You could hang out with us!" Maki said happily.
I'm going to kill you someday, Maki. Ugh! Stupid, stupid friends! Why are they so clueless that I hate this guy?
"Kean, buddy! It's been a long time, too!"
Fuck you, Matt! Enough's enough! I really wanna beat the crap out of this guy already. He acted like he did nothing wrong before.
Kean flashed him a pissed look before he stood and grabbed his bag, ignoring Matt's greeting. "I'm going ahead. Bye, Chloe. Bye ladies," Kean told us before turning to his heels and walked towards the exit.
Drake tsk'd and shook his head, "What a rude friend you have there, Chloe." This guy, I make sure, is the first one on my list that I would want to kill. He doesn't even know anything, so why isn't he shutting his mouth? How dare he speak rudely about Kean!
I took a deep breath before standing up and turned around. Being the stupid me, I forgot that Drake and Matt were behind. Could this day get any worse?
"Leaving so soon, Chloe?" Matt whispered, as I stood beside him.
I rolled my eyes, trying to calm myself. I swear to god, if this guy talks to me again, I'm gonna kill him!
"I'm going ahead, too. I've got to finish some homework," I told them, trying to put up a smile before I left.

Time seemed to be so slow today. It was totally ruined! First, a rumor of me and Drake was spreading so fast. Second, Matt is here.
Matt being in the same school as me is good enough to ruin my entire life. Wanna know why?
First, we're on the same team. Second, we're on the same class. Third, my friends already know him. Fourth, we'll get to see each other more often. Fifth, my friends told him to hang with us. Sixth, it's a bad idea letting Kean see Matt's face. Seventh, I know he's up for something. Knowing that guy, he wouldn't give up easily. He never gets defeated. Eighth, the list goes on.
