I woke up early Monday morning with a big smile plastered on my face. I had an awesomely-terrible dream last night. Awesome and terrible contradict. Hell, I sound stupid.

I touched my lips, hoping that last night was just a dream and that it never happened. But no matter how hard I try to convince myself that everything was just okay, I’m still not convinced, though. Not to hide the fact that in one night and in that fleeting moment, everything happened so fast without warning. Kean stole my first kiss and told me that he liked me. Bloody hell, I wish it just didn’t happen.

Shaking my head to snap out from my thoughts, I turned to check the time. My clock says 6:01 am. I didn’t waste any time so I got up and did my daily morning ritual: wake up, daydream for few seconds, get a bath, change into my clothes, eat breakfast, and obviously—school.

Walking along the road going to school, my mind kept on popping too many questions that it seems like my brain was bursting.

What ifs, Buts… Yeah, they all suck.

The moment I reached the room, my friends were already there waiting for me.

“And what made sleeping beauty wake up so early?” Maki teased.

“She probably got kissed by her prince charming,” Megan mocked. “Ha!”

I shook my head rapidly. “What kiss? No. No kiss.”

Maki placed both her hand on my shoulder. “I was kidding, alright? Why so serious?” she teased.

“I smell something real fishy,” Megan said, rubbing her nose.

     Dona smiled and just nodded.

     “What happened, really?” Maki asked.

“What? Nothing happened! Nothing, really,” I denied. There’s no way they’re going to find out what happened last night. Everything should only be between the two of us. It's confidential!

Megan stood up and went closer. “You’re just way too bad at lying, Chloe,” she said, giving me a grin. “You don’t look straight into our eyes. You do that when you lie.”

“You know, I just hate the fact how you know a lot about me, you know that?” I said, rolling my eyes.

“So,” Dona said, playing with the curls of her hair. “What’s the secret you’re hiding?”

“It wouldn’t be a secret if I tell you what it is.”

Megan looked at me with a big smile plastered on her face, an evil-type of look. “So…” Megan said, breathing in. “There really is a secret.”

Oh, shoot! Why was I so stupid?! Even if I defend and deny myself, I know Megan’s not that stupid. “What are you talking about?” I asked, pretending not to know what they meant.

Megan pulled back and leaned on her chair. “Do you really think I’m that stupid? We’re that stupid?”

Yeah, hell I was right. See, told you she’s not that dumb. She’s a very good observer. Or maybe… I was just a bad liar. So I’ve been told.

“Fine,” I told them, sounding defeated. “But you’ve got to promise me one thing. This will only be between us.”

      They nodded simultaneously.

I gave out a loud sigh before I told them the details about last night. I made it short and simple: “Kean. He kissed me last night,” I told them.
