I heard a clash of thunder, which suddenly woke Matt and I. We had fallen asleep under the stars outside. I lifted myself from the ground to see that we were on the top of the hill still. Matt laid his head on my stomach as I sat up.

"It's your favorite day of the year, Halloween." Matt grinned at me and I was surprised that he had even remembered that.

"You remembered? I told you that at the beginning of like high school." I was astonished and smiled at him.

"I remember that Halloween party where you dressed as a dark angel. You looked stunning." Matt played with my fingers.

For some reason his words stuck pain inside me. His sweet words he would tell me out of nowhere were shattering my heart. Everything was right before we split for college. What if we never did? What if we stayed together? Would it be different?

"I have something planned for Sammy, the Jacks, Dylan, you, and me." Matt looked back at me with excitement.

"Dylan? You know him that well?" I was sort of confused since he had met Dylan for the first time less than 24 hours ago.

"I invited because he seems nice. He fits well in our group." Matt was sweet to do that.

"So what is our plan for today?" I furrowed my eyebrows together.

"A haunted house instead of going to those halloween parties." Matt looked for my reaction.

"Seriously?! That's amazing." I was actually very excited to go to a haunted house.

"We should head home babe." Matt got up while I was stuck on the fact that he addressed me as babe.

Were we a thing? Again.

"What are we? You call me babe and tell me you love me, then the next minute you tell me you're moving out." I stood still waiting for an answer.

"What do you want us to be?" He answered back with a question and I absolutely hated that.

"You can't keeping doing this. You can't expect me to clarify what we are all the time. I want to know what you think we are without my words altering your decision. Just tell me what you want!" I told him, getting frustrated on my favorite day of the year.

"I want you." Matt grabbed ahold of my shoulders and slightly shook me like he was snapping me back into my senses.

"What if you change your mind?" I didn't even know if I could face another heartbreak if he left me.

"I did before when I thought Isabel was a good idea. I was wrong, God I was so wrong. I know I won't do it again." Matt was somewhat apologizing to me.

"You promise you won't leave me?" I extended my pinky out to him.

"I promise." He locked our pinkies together, which made me feel the happiness I had almost lost.

"Let's try this relationship again?" Matt then asked, confirming now that we were a thing now.

I nodded feeling like now everything was falling back into place. Maybe all this bad happened so all this good could prevail. At least that's what I let myself believe.

Matt reached for my hand as we ran down the hill with the speed increasing. He let out a laugh, which might I add was the cutest thing. I looked at him and couldn't help but smile at how happy he was. I loved seeing Matt happy.

We made our way my car where we then drove back home. Matt was home now. He wasn't moving anymore and I was happy. I loved our little flat that we had decorated together.
