The cool crisp air was a change from LA's. It was nice to be back home in Virginia. Our flight reached at around 12 am, and we decided on taking a cab home. I wanted to go back home and see how my mom was doing, and Matt wanted to do the same with his family. I was dropped home first and I knew my mom was asleep.
I was surprised that I had found the spare key, and was glad I did since I didn't want to have to wake up my mom. I crept inside the quiet house, which was just the same. I went up the stairs and to my old room. I missed this house.
I flopped onto my bed, super sleepy and withn seconds I was out.-
"Wake up." I felt someone poking at my face.
I groaned, rubbing my eyes open. There sat Matt with a huge smile on his face. I gave him a small smile since I was still in the process of completely waking up. Matt pulled me into his arms and we fell back on the pillow again.
"You know cuddling isn't exactly helping me wake up?" I mumbled, whilst my eyes began to shut again.
"Wake up!" Matt said getting up and taking his arms off of me.
"Carry me to the bathroom. I have to pee." I reached my arms in his direction and he sighed, before scooping me up into his arms.
Matt set me down in the bathroom and I made him wait in my room while I peed. After using the restroom and freshening up, and walked out to find Matt laying on my bed.
"C'mon, let's go downstairs so I can meet my mom!" I excitedly spoke, attempting to pull his body up from the bed.
Matt and I raced downstairs to find my mom in the kitchen. I ran over to her and embraced her into my arms. I had missed her so much. She hugged me tightly and I could tell she was crying a little. It was hard being away from her, specially when she was alone at home.
"I missed you so much." I told her, pulling away from our hug.
"You don't know how much I missed you." She told me, caressing my cheek and I smiled back at her.
She had made some chocolate pancakes. Matt and I sat at the table. I was assuming that she had caught up with him while I was asleep. The three of us sat and ate our breakfast. We all caught up on what was going on. I was happy to find that my mom had started dating again.
At least I wouldn't be concerned about her being alone all the time. After breakfast, Matt and I decided on stopping by his house for a little bit, visiting our old hangouts back in high school, and then of course the New Years Eve Party. Well all that after I showered. My mom's work was having a New Year Eve party as well, so we decided on spending time together tomorrow.
We went upstairs and Matt sat in my room while I went to take a quick shower. After my quick shower, I put on my bra and underwear then wrapped a towel around myself. I stepped out of the bathroom and walked to my closet.
Matt got up from my bed and walked over to me. I opened the closet looking at my old clothes that I didn't take with me to California. I really only had nice clothes in my suitcase and I didn't want to wear them on a lazy afternoon.
Matt suggested I wear his old lacrosse t-shirt that I had kept in my closet. I wore that along with some leggings, and a white Northface jacket. I blow dried my hair and left my face without makeup since I would need it in the evening.
