CADE
STANDING AT THE SIDEWALK, I let the whistle of the wind sing to me while it caressed my cheeks. The streets were so quiet. The city was quiet. I could hear the beat of my heart and the air leaving me lungs.
No one was outside. No one was in this city but me. Not even a moving shadow.
The buildings were crumbling into dust as vines wrapped aroumd it, claiming it as its own. The windows were broken and shattered glass littered the cracked roads. I was afraid that if I poked it, it might all fall down burying this dead city. Abandoned cars were left behind to block the roads and their windows were wrecked and some of its doors were misiing and some of it were awfully dented.
Weeds grew on the road's crevices and the streets were covered with vines. The city was dead and the nature had devoured it as the time passed. Looking at the tall buildings, I was sure this was once a progressive place.
The sun was lying low on the horizon, painting the sky a bright shade of orange. Although the sun was still there, I could already see the moon on the other side, waiting for the sun to sleep so it could reign the night skies by itself.
