Chapter 33

I ran into his arms without any second thoughts. I almost made him fall backwards because I ran into him with so much force. It felt so good to be in his arms again. I was crying. He was crying. And I was pretty sure that my prep team were crying when I heard the small sniffles in the background. He kept stroking my hair and telling me that it was okay and that i was safe. I looked up to see his beautiful face smiling down at me. His eyes were red where he had been crying, this was the first time I'd seen him cry, but I didn't really notice at the time because I think everyone in the room was crying tears of joy. "Thanks for coming back." He said with a small smirk on his face. "No problem." I said with a small laugh that came out as a weird choke. He pulled me back into his arms and held me for what seemed like forever until he finally whispered. "I love you" I looked back up at him to find his blue eyes staring into mine. "I love you too." I whispered. And with that, he kissed me, attempting to block out all the cooing sounds coming from my prep team and stylist. However it didn't last for long as we quickly jumped away from each other at the sharp sounds of Pheonix's heals stamping towards us. "Oh welcome back deary!" She exclaimed as she wrapped her arms around me so tight that I felt like my insides were going to pop out. "I just knew I'd be seeing you again!" She chirped as she pulled me away from her and studied my face. "Oh my! The surgeons have done an excellent job on fixing you up! There's barley a scratch on you!" She exclaimed. "Doesn't she look wonderful Caleb?" She asked him. "She always does." He said softly with a small smile. "Yes! Indeed she does...oh and that reminds me! Darcy, did you know that you are all anyone in the capitols been talking about since you entered the games? Well of course you didn't...ha...silly me! Well...everyone's been absolutely thrilled about the marriage proposal! I can't believe that-" and that's when I totally switched off listening to Pheonix, I was too busy thinking about the proposal, I can't believe I had forgotten! I was due to be married to Caleb...then I started to have thoughts about where I would live, what my family would think, what my new life would be like. Suddenly I was being taken into a lift and by Pheonix (who was still waffling on about the proposal) When I got out of the lift, I realised that we were back on the floor that I had stayed In before the games. I was thankful that my stylist had saved me from Pheonix when he pulled me aside to get me ready for the victors interview with Caesar Flickerman. That was another thing I had forgotten, the interview was tonight...
