"Welcome back Darcy. And congratulations on your victory."
"Thankyou."
"Tell me, did you think that you were ever going to be here today?"
"Honestly...no."
"And why's that?"
"Because there were so many strong and powerful tributes, and I never thought that I would ever be able to kill someone."
"I see, so tell me your initial thought about the games before you entered the arena."
"I always knew that it would be the most difficult thing in my life, but i never realised that the worst part would be watching members of my alliance die."
"Ah yes, your alliance. Now I know you may not want to talk about this subject, but I have to ask, was it your plan all along to stay with them for so long? Or was you considering turning against them later on in the games?"
"Oh no, I would never do that. I guess I just got attached and didn't want to let go, that's all."
"Yes, we've witnessed that, especially when we saw how reluctant you were to break off the alliance with Calix. You two got pretty close didn't you?"
"W-well...yes..I..um...I suppose we did..."
"Many people In the capitol were noticing that he started to gain feelings for you, i suppose that's why he didn't receive any sponsors, because the capitol didn't want him to disrupt your love for Caleb."
Suddenly I felt my blood boiling. Is that the reason why he didn't get any sponsors? Because the capitol people wanted to kill him off? Just because he seemed to take a liking to me? I wanted to snap so bad, but I new I couldn't.
"So lets move onto Axe, that was a pretty outrageous act he did at the final stand. Wasn't it?"
"Yes...I never expected him to do what he did, he saved my life. And I owe him everything for it. He in my opinion was the bravest tribute in the games. He could have won. But he chose to end his life for me."
"Yes well it's defiantly a first for the games, that's for sure."
The room went silent. I couldn't think of how to answer, suddenly Caesar spoke up again.
"So lets talk about your husband to be, shall we?"
I suddenly felt a lump in my throat, I couldn't speak.
"Why don't we bring him out here?"
I turned to see Caleb striding out onto the stage, I guess I should have seen it coming, and I suppose he already had. That's probably why he has been dressed to match me.
"Welcome Mr Fray. And might I say, congratulations on having both your tributes make it to the final two. It's been quite a surprise being as it is your first year of mentoring."
"Thank you." Caleb said bluntly as he sat down by my side and wrapped one arm round my waist gently.
"So, have any plans been made for when and where the marriage will take place?"
"I'm sure we will wait a while first, I think Darcy may need a time on her own for a while to get the games out of her system."
"Yes yes! Of course, but you know the capitol, we're always hungry for a good celebrity marriage."
Caleb and I both said nothing, I guess we both felt the same way about the capitol so I suppose it would have been for the best that we kept our mouths shut.
"So Darcy, your now no longer a tribute, but a victor...how does it feel?"
"Strange, but I guess i'll get used to it." I said with a smirk.
"I'm sure you will, are you exited to see your family and friends again."
"Yes defiantly."
"Well then, I suppose we best let you get home to them, thank you for your time. We'll be looking forward to seeing you on the victory tour in a couple of months. And again congratulations...ladies and gentlemen...I give you Darcy Quinn! The victor from district 7!"
"And...cut!" The cameraman then shouted. And that was it. The interview was over. And it was time for me to return to my home in district 7...
