Into the darkness

Six minutes later 

We all stood several feet away from the black forest, the infamous black forest which separated the good side from the bad. I gulped nervously, and turned my attention towards Cinderella who was talking to Mickey and Minnie about the situation.

"So, what's going on exactly? You guys haven't told us anything yet." Cinderella said, her finger drawing small circles on the side if her cutlass. "I mean, seriously," she continued "this must be really serious if you're coming to us for help."

Mickey looked at Minnie, Minnie looked at Mickey, then Mickey stepped forwards.

"It's Esmerelda," Mickey said softly, "she was spotted running through the streets last night."

I froze, I ran over the the three of them quickly, and screeched to a halt in front on Mickey. "What happened? Where did she go? Tell me everything." Mickey looked overwhelmed for a second, but he quickly shook it off and spoke. 

"She was spotted last night at a fruit vender stand, probably buying food for Jolly he was with her at the time, Goofy and Donald tried to sneak up on her but Jolly bleated and she saw them, she ran, and naturally Donald and Goofy gave into the chase. They followed her through every street that there is, and eventually they reached the black forest, Donald and Goofy slowed down but Esmerelda just kept on running, no matter what they said. They thought she would stop at the forest, but she just jumped over one fallen tree, and entered the darkness. Donald and Goofy said the last thing they saw was a pair of white arms taking ahold of Esmerelda, and pulling her back into the darkness."

I had absorbed pretty much all the tension, my shoulders were up to my ears by the time Mickey finished. I turned back towards the forest, and suddenly I wasn't that afraid anymore.

"Let's do this." I whispered, determined to get my friend back.
