"The president wishes to see you." Jake says as we walks through the hallway. I hold his hand and lean on his side. It feels like home.

"Oh yippee." I say and then he stops.

"I promise he won't make you work. I won't let him." He says and I smile.

"Oh do I get vacation days?" I joke and he laughs.

"You deserve it." He says and pulls me into a kiss.

I walk into the receptionist room and approach the desk and notice something. There was a new woman sitting behind the desk, younger and brighter looking.

"Um, hello." I tried and the woman looked up from some paper work.

"Hi, what can I do for you?" She asks happily.

"Where is the other lady?" I asked and she looked at me with a confused face.

"What do you mean?"

"The old receptionist." I explained and her face turned dark.

"She doesn't work here anymore." She says quietly and then turned back to her papers.

"Where is she then?" I asked and the lady sighed and took off her spec's.

"She died." She said sadly and I looked down at the floor.

"How?"

"A soldier of Malak's infiltrated the headquarters and she prevented the intruder from entering the Presidents office."

"She died protecting him?"

"That was her job." She says and I shake my head.

"No her job was to sit at this desk and yell at me when I didn't check in with her. She wasn't a body guard. She was in charge of papers not security." I say and the woman shrugs.

"No matter what you say, she will still be dead." She says and looks back at her papers. I reach over the desk and snatch the papers from the table.

"What the hell?" She cries and stands up from her chair.

"You don't deserve this job." I say and throw them across the room. The big door swing open and the president steps out. I stop my actions quickly and he leans on the wall.

"I see your welcoming our guest." He says and nods to the frightened woman.

"This woman doesn't deserve this position." I say and he chuckles.

"What do you suggest?" He asks.

"I've been informed we obtained innocent people from the opposing city. I'm sure one of them would be more than willing to provide these services." I explain.

"Maybe we should discuss this matter at another time. For now will you join me in my office, Alex?" He asks and I turn to the lady.

"This isn't over." I say and walk into the presidents office. He gestures towards one of the chairs and sits in his. I sit and he pours me a glass of water. I stare at it skeptically.

"Are you going to drink it?" He asked and broke my trance.

"I've made a rule for myself. Don't drink anything someone else has poured."

"That's smart." He says and then takes my glass and gulps the water down. He wipes his mouth with his sleeve. He sets down the cup and looks at me.

"You're not in danger anymore, Alex. You can trust me." He insists and I cross my legs.

"Why am I here?" I ask and he chuckles.
