Outside the jet was landed and men were guarding it with rifles in their hands. Jake and I still were holding hands and Violet and Irene couldn't stop talking. We finally stop in front of the men and I turn to the girls.
"You coming with us?" I ask and Violet smiles widely.
"Ah no shit Sherlock!" Violet yells and bumps my shoulder as she pushes past me. She boards the plane and I look back at Irene.
"Are you coming?" I ask and she looks past me, towards the plane. Then she turns back to me and smiles sadly.
"I don't know if I can." She says and walk up to her.
"You didn't just do all that for nothing, Irene. I'm not going to let you risk your life for me and then leave you here. You're coming with me." I say and she nods. We walk together and Jake joins us to walk up the platform. We finally enter the Jet and I look around.
There are soldiers everywhere. Some getting medical attention and others chatting amongst themselves. I turn to Jake and he shrugs.
"Did you send the whole city for me?" I ask and he chuckles.
"The ones who didn't have plans." He says and I laugh.
We walk to the edge of the jet and sit down on the floor, leaning our backs to the wall. Everyone walks by us and nods or says hello, careful not to disturb me. I find it disturbing how everyone treats me like a god. I am no different from the person I was when I left the last time. I might be a bit tattered up and tired but I still am Alex and I didn't want to be treated me any differently.
I can feel the jet jerk and realize were leaving. I turn to Jake and snuggle into his shirt. He kisses the top of my head and I close my eyes. Sleep comes to me quickly.

I wake up to the jet bumping. I lift my head up and Jake opens his eyes.
"What's wrong?" He asks and shake my head.
"Nothing. I'm going to take a walk." I say and kiss him on the cheek as a goodbye.
"Sure you're okay?" He asks and I nod. I stand up and start walking towards the front of the plane. It was long and wide, and as I walked along I saw the men that risked their lives for me, or more accurately the innocent people that lived in Malak's grip.
I saw Irene and walked up to her. As I slowed and sat by her I realized she had tears on her cheeks. She looked at me and cleared them quickly.
"What's wrong?" I ask and she shakes her head at me.
"I can't go with you to your city." She breathes.
"Why not?" I ask and she sighs.
"Before I knew you I was a pretty terrible maid. Once I talked back to Malak and he was furious. So as a punishment he sent me to your city to kill one of your people. He used me as a machine to rile up your president. So I did it. I killed a citizen and then walked back to Malak." She explains with more tears.
"How did Jake know your name?" I ask.
"When my father learned of your rebellion he knew his time was short. So he trained me to protect you in case he perished. When the man with the communication device died, his wife gave me it. I began to talk to your city about your plans to kill Malak and together we decided what to do. They have no knowledge as my past of an assassin. They have no idea that I killed that woman."
"You killed a woman?" I asked and she looked at me.
"I can't bear to look myself in the mirror. I can't face the people who are hurt by my actions. I'm a coward." She says.
"Excuse me for a second." I say and get up. I start to run to where Jake was and I come towards him. He notices me and stands up quickly.
"What happened?" He asks as he touches my elbows.
"Irene...she's...." I breathe from all the running.
"Calm down, Alex." He orders and I take a breath.
"She's one the who killed her." I finally say and Jake looks at me with a confused face.
"Who?" He asks and I look at him.
"Will's sister." I whisper and he lets go of my elbows. He sighs loudly and runs a hand through his hair.
"He's going to kill her." he realizes and I shake my head violently.
"I can't let him do that." I say.
"That's not your decision," He says and takes my hand. "Let's go see her."
We walk to Irene and she looks up at us. She stands and wipes off her dirty pants with her hand as we approach. Jake pulls out handcuffs from his belt loop and unhooks them.
"I'm sorry Irene. I don't want to do this." He says and she nods.
"I understand." She says and sticks out her hands. Jake cuffs her and then walks her to the front of the plane, he sets her on a chair and then tells the guard next to him about the situation. At first the guard looked concerned and mad but then as Jake explained his face softened and he nodded. He walked away and we were left alone in the corner.
Irene's face was cold and expressionless. She sat there, knowing that finally justice was served and she was finally freed of the secret that was eating her alive for months. I kneel by her and she looks at me with watery eyes.
"I am going to do everything I can to keep you alive." I say.
"Don't," She breathes. "I deserve to die."
"That's not true, Irene."
"You can say all you want, Alex. We both know I made a mistake." She says and I stand back up.
The plane bumps a little again and I tremble. Jake acts quickly and grabs me to prevent me from falling.
"Thank you." I tell him.
"Any time." He says with a smile.
"You guys should sit. We're about to land." The guard next to us warns. I look over at him.
"By the way, did we get Malak?" I ask and he laughs.
"Yes, the enemy was found and cuffed." The guard explains.
"Thank god." Irene mumbles behind us and I turn to her. She still doesn't have any feeling's shown on her face but I know what she feels. Guilt.
AUTHORS NOTE: Hello everyone. I have thought a lot about how to finish this story and I am guessing there should be about three chapters left. I have made this book in about three months and I am super proud about how far I have come in that time. I have grown as a writer and it's helped me with so many things. I have not decided how I will pursue this book but I do know when I am done, I will be editing it. I have no knowledge as how far I will go editing and if some details will be changed.
I want to thank everyone for supporting me in the completion of this book and I would love to hear from any of you.
