Chapter 5: Don't be a Cliché

"Hey girl, I feel like I haven't seen you all week." Hyosung walked into the dorm, her arms full of shopping bags.

"Yeah. I was practically living in the library the past few days studying." I plopped onto my head and buried my head into my pillow.

"Have you used the app recently?"

"Psh." I scoff, "No. Ever since that disaster that happened with Yongguk, I haven't opened that app once."

"Oh ok," Now she started to look a bit uneasy, "Alright sorry for bringing this up, but I know you still haven't paid for your room and board at this university. The deadline is coming up."

I groaned and pulled the covers over my head, "University is so freaking expensive. At least I was able to finally pay off the tuition. I made a list of all my unpaid expenses: a meal plan, textbooks, a new laptop, one of those fancy hundred dollar calculators my math professor is making us buy, and now that we got accepted, the membership & uniform for the dance team."

Hyosung picked up my phone while looking over at me, "Do you mind if I check the app for you?"

"Ehhh, fine."

A snicker escaped from Hyosung's mouth and she showed me my screen, "Bang Yongguk requested you again."

"Ew." I blurted out, "Click 'decline.' I bet he's just trying to mess with me."

"Ok girls, everyone stretch before we practice," Sunhwa announced and we all went into rows. Just as she was about to blow her whistle, a ruckus interrupted.

"Alright you guys stretch before we drill!" A deep, but loud voice called out.

I turned around and saw the basketball team enter. Once I saw Yongguk, I quickly faced the other way.

"Hey! We have the gym today." Hana marched up to Yongguk and exerted her boss-like attitude.

"No. My team has the gym today."

Hana roller her eyes, "Ugh the school double booked us. Well we need to use the gym because of the mats. You can play your game outside."

"It's too hot outside." Yongguk said simply, which really annoyed Hana.

"It's alright. We'll share the gym for today." Sunhwa stepped in to mediate. Her personality was the complete opposite of Hana's.

I groaned internally and faced Hyosung. I didn't want to be in the same room as Yongguk.

Sunhwa resumed leading stretches and she told everyone to bend down to stretch their legs.

The shorts that the girls were wearing went up a little as the bent down. The guys from the basketball team started to get distracted from their own stretches as they looked over at the girls.

"I think they just added some new members. The one in the back is cute." Jongup said to one of the guys standing next to him.

"Yeah she is. If I was with her, I would so---"

"Guys hurry up so we can start practice." Yongguk approached his distracted teammates.

"Not yet. We're busy watching that girl on the dance team." Jongup nudged.

"That's Jieun." Yongguk said unconsciously.

"You know her?"

When Jieun heard someone saying her name, she turned her head and saw Yongguk with two other guys staring in her direction. But she turned away once they made eye contact.
