Chapter 17: Time is Up

"Are you sure you want to do this again?" Hyosung asked worriedly as she watched me get ready for tonight.

"I hate being this desperate, but really, there's nothing else I can do. He's expecting the money by next week so I have to give it to him." I got the notification that my date was waiting outside and I headed for the door.

"Or you can just run away. I think I have some relatives that can help you stow away on a plane and help you go to America. From there you have to meet with my cousin Jimin--he's a little sketchy, but if you're willing to---"

I placed my hand over Hyosung's mouth to stop her from talking. "I'm not going to run away. I'm just going to do this."

For the past few days, I went on outings via the app. I hated doing things like this behind HImchan's back. I haven't told him about anything that was going on with my life lately.

The outings were pretty boring. They were mostly dinners where the guys just lo0o0oved talking about themselves. Boasting about their estates and companies that they're going to inherit.

But I just sucked it up because at the end of the night, they deposited the payment into my account.

"Jieun, let's spend the day together. You really deserve it from all the studying and working that you've been doing." Himchan said to me. Everyday, he would want to come and see me, but I told him that I was too busy with homework and the café to do anything else. But I wouldn't want him getting suspicious so this time, I agreed to go out with him. Besides, I've really missed him. I'm a horrible girlfriend TT.

"So we can do whatever you want today. Do you want to go to the movies? Out to eat? Shopping?"

I kind of just want to nap

"You want to nap?" Himchan chuckled.

"Huh?" Realizing that I was thinking out loud, I covered my mouth.

"It's ok, I understand, you're really tired. You must be studying really hard for midterms right? My midterms are coming up too but I think you're just more studious than I am."

"Oh I-I was just joking. We should go out, do what you want."

"It doesn't matter where we go. I just want to spend time with you." He touched my cheek with the back of his hand and I sighed into his caress. "We can go to my apartment and order in."

"You have an apartment in Seoul?"

"Well yeah," He admitted, "I have apartments almost everywhere."

We were at Himchan's apartment, well more like loft, and I was really glad we decided to do this instead of going out. It was kind of childish, but we played a board game, and afterwards we had Chinese take out and then snuggled together on the couch as he popped a DVD into the player.

My eyes starting feeling droopy while watching the movie. Himchan wrapped his arm around me and I nuzzled my face into the crook of his neck. I blinked slowly and put my arms around Himchan, engulfing him in a hug.

"Hey babe, you can sleep if you want." He whispered softly into my hair. I giggled a little since that's the first time hearing that word come from him. But it sounded to cute coming from him.

"You sound so cute when you say that word," I replied in an even softer whisper.

"What word?"

"Babe." I said sheepishly.

"It sounds cuter when you say it." Himchan's arm squeezed around my body and he pressed his lips to my forehead.

"Should I start calling you that from now on then?"

"If you want," He answered nonchalantly. "But to be honest, I really like when you say it."

I now moved my head up so that my chin was resting on his shoulder and I was staring at his side profile. Ahh my boyfriend is so handsome.

"Jieunnn," Himchan said in a fake-firm voice. "Stop staring at me."

"What if I don't?"

"Then I'll just kiss you." He smoothly turned his head to the left and left a chaste kiss on my lips.

"That's alright," I murmured, "I don't mind."

A smile was the last thing I saw before Himchan pulled me into a deeper kiss. Naturally my eyes closed and I placed my arms around his neck. He reclined back which made me end up on top.

His hands found their way down to my hips, squeezing them gently and continuing our kiss. I let out a slight muffled sound when I felt him softly bit my lip. I pulled away, being a little embarrassed that that noise escaped my mouth, but Himchan just chuckled and put his hand on the back of my head, allowing it to rest on top of his chest.

We fell asleep together and I accidentally spent the night. I woke up to the sound of the tea kettle and Himchan was already in the kitchen.

"Good morning." He smiled sweetly once he noticed I was awake. He told me there was a new towel and toothbrush in the bathroom that he set out for me and said that he was preparing some toast for breakfast.

"Sorry that I stayed the night." I said, dipping a teabag into my hot water.

"It's alright, I didn't mind." He checked his watch and put the dishes in the sink, "I should drive you to work right now."

I looked at the clock and pouted, "Oh that's right...I'd rather just stay with you though."

"You're so sweet," He kissed my forehead. "I'll go get my car keys. I don't want to make you late."

When Himchan dropped me off, he said that I can call him again if I need a ride back to the dorms. Before I got out of the car, he placed a kiss on my lips and no matter how many times he does that, it still gives me butterflies. I think I have the sweetest boyfriend in the world.

I started my day in a really good mood, but of course, things never stay like that for long. It was right around 3pm when we have already reached our peak hours and there weren't a lot of people coming in and out.

Well except for Yongguk who just waltzed in.

I was confined to my spot when he made eye contact with me. I knew what he was here for. My time limit was already up and I was supposed to pay him back.

"So," He says, "I guess you already know the reason why I'm here."

"Yeah..." I nodded my head. "I tried. But you were right. I wasn't able to get all that money on time."

"I think we both knew it was a little impossible."

He was speaking so casually, I wasn't sure how to read him. Wait. So what now?

"You remember where my dorm is right?"

"Uh yeah, but---"

"You can come around 9."

"Wait what?" I blinked. "Why?"

"Don't be scared. Just come around 9, ok?"
