3... 2.... 1....

Guess's eyes suddenly flashed open without warming, face; unemotional. As the knife came with speed for her heart she rolled over and dodged the blow. She seemed possessed. No scream was heard from her fear and her heart's pace was steady as if she were still asleep. Lust was shocked at the sudden movement but smiled at the thought of fighting against her. Guess stood up almost robotically and turned to Lust and just stared at her from across the bed, still unemotional, but with wide eyes.

"Come on then, bitch, I'll show you what you get for taking Matt from me!" Lust said. Guess just tipped her head slowly to one side, not blinking and her eyes remained locked on Lust. The infiltrator gulped at the intimidation coming from her victim but tried to ignore it. Suddenly, Lust launched herself at Guess, climbing over the bed to try and get to her. She swung her knife once; then again. Guess didn't move, her head now straight, and just kept staring at her attacker. On the third swing, Guess moved, quickly. She moved as if it was trained, her hand came to the exact place it had to be. She carelessly took hold of Lust's wrist which carried the knife and stopped it hitting her neck, it was only an inch away from sinking into the skin of her collarbone, though, still confident. Lust's hand struggled to get out of Guess's firm hold, tugging at her arm as the hold became tighter; Lust knelt on the bed Guess started to move, but it was unnoticeable and impossible to know she was moving until the movement had already happened. Just like that, Lust found herself looking in the other direction; with the edge of the blade she still held, to her own neck. She feared for her life now as the knife got closer to her, she used all her strength against the extreme force to keep the blade from slicing her throat but Guess's hand was stronger. Slowly, the blade reached her neck, Lust felt the cold metal on her skin. But as soon as it touched her, the force she was exerting on her hand, against Guess's force, became looser and looser until there came a point in which Lust could simply push her hand away and turn to face Guess again. By the time she had, her opponent knelt on the floor pulling at her hair. Guess shook her head violently and seemed to awaken. Without really thinking about it, Lust knew she hadn't been fighting the real Guess but she was awake now. An evil smile covered her face as she towered over her true opponent. Guess looked up to see Lust holding the knife above her head. She studied the moment calmly, and took a deep breath for what she was about to do would be difficult.

"Go on then Lust," she began. Lust's smile fades slightly but doesn't make a move. "No matter what you do it won't change anything. He'll only hate you more. Think about what you're about to do, and decide reasonably, this isn't a game, this is real life. If you can bring yourself to take a life, no matter who it is, then I wish your mental stability luck, because it's not easy to live with. I would have thought a Wammy's House kid would know." By then her smile had vanished clear off her face. She remained expressionless like a statue. Guess just stared up at her, she was afraid, but she hid it with her bravery.

Lust's grip on the knife weakened, still in the same position, and she dropped the blade to the floor. She moaned in pain as she curled up on the bed she was kneeling on. Shaken, Guess slowly rose to her feet, now being higher than her failed attacker. Now was her chance to strike...

But she wouldn't take it.

Like a shot, Lust sat up. "This doesn't change anything! I hate you and I always will! I'll be back, and with more courage, you'll see! Best sleep with one eye open because you'll feel the burn when I return. This is what you'll get..." She had tears streaming down her face as she bolted from the room leaving Guess to her questions and the knife on the floor.

Guess's POV

"What happened to me?..." I pondered aloud. I tried to remember when I had gotten up, to be honest, I was only alive due to my fast thinking. I managed to make Lust give up but I would have to be wary of her return... I was in shock really, I just didn't allow myself to go in shock when death was staring me in the face. Would I tell Matt about this? ... I wasn't sure. "I need to get some sleep, ask myself later." I lay on my bed and stared at the ceiling unable to move or think rationally. The thought of my parents entered my mind... When did I gain these memories? I remember having a moment of Eureka when talking to Matt but my mind had never remembered the whole story in detail. The moment of my mother and father's death played like a movie in my head. I'd narrowly evaded death then and I did the same here... and then, in Japan. A sharp pain came across my scab as I thought about it but faded this time. I clutched at it as I strained at imagining these moments of blood and death, squeezing my eyes tight. Once the memory came to an end, the sun started sifting through my blinds. I groaned and hid under my covers and pillow closing my eyes and trying to fall asleep for a few more minutes.

--------------------------------------------------------------------

Duh, herro! So she livees! (I enjoy misspelling for impact XD) I saw that some of you predicted that Matt would come in to save her but, she saved herself! No more cliché 'Damsel in distress' bull crap, women are capable of saving themselves. I'm going, to be honest, and say that Cinderella and Snow White were kinda dumb considering they could have both run away, right? Correct me if I'm wrong, a little rusty on the story now. Besides, Cinderella was talking to animals, that must have been some sort of hallucination realistically, but then again... bipity bopity boo. Touché  Cinderella, touché... ANYWAY! Commenters for this chapter are (really tempted to put episode there because YouTubes XD):

Thanks, guys! There is a rapid increase in popularity for this book, I never thought I get to it! 5.68k views?! 294 votes?!? What is this? I always saw these books with hundreds of supporters and I never thought that what I would write would be one of them, being honest (lots of honesty this chapter) I've considered taking writing as a possible future career for myself and after rewriting and editing, changing perspectives etc, I imagine that this would be the first book I'd try and publish; after getting the Death Note writers permission of course. I thank you all, from my most mentioned commenters to you silent readers, like me, I'll see you in the next one (Shit, I think I brought the cheese back... meh...).
