I looked at my surroundings. Louis’s living room was overall nicely decorated, but there were different things everywhere. Candy wrappers were scattered across the floor. A few used plates were set on the coffee table.
“You really weren’t kidding.” I stood in shock.
“I told you it was messy.” Louis defended while closing the door behind us. “So why did you want to come here again?”
I started to walk around. “I was just curious as to what it looked like.” I guess now I knew what it looked like.
“You see it.” Louis pointed around the room. “Now, what do you want to do?” He asked.
“I told you. I wanted to have a good time.” I smiled.
Louis smirked.
“But first, I just have to clean.” I said and started to pick up everything on the floor.
“Clean?”
“Mmhm.” I hummed.
I clenched all the wrappers into my hand and picked up more.
“Sophia, you don’t have to. I can take care of myself.” Louis tried assuring me.
I stopped what I was doing and stared intently at him. I stood there wide-eyed and crossed my arms. “Really?” I said gesturing the mess of the room.
“Well, yeah. I’m not dead yet.” He replied.
I grinned and rolled my eyes. I continued to pick up things. The floor was just about spotless. I walked through a door I assumed was the kitchen. I went straight for the garbage can and tossed the trash away.
The kitchen only had a few dirty dishes in the sink. At least he knew how to do that much. Since there were dishes in the living room, I figured I could clean them all at once.
I opened the door to the kitchen to get back into the living room.
“Ouch!” I heard Louis shout from the other side of the door. I heard plates fall and hitting the floor.
I immediately ran to the noise. Louis was sitting on the floor with his hand pressed to his head. Next to him were some shattered plates.
“Shit.” I muttered under my breath. I knelt down in front of him. “Are you okay?” I asked.
I gingerly moved his hand away from his forehead.
“Yeah, I’m alright.” Louis winced as I touch the spot he was holding.
I felt a small bump. It seemed like it was swollen and bruising already. It looked like it hurt.
“Is it that bad?” He asked.
“It doesn’t look great.” I admitted. “What were you doing with those plates?”
“I was trying to help you fix up the place because I felt bad. I also wanted to hurry up the process so we could have fun.”
Aw. The overall gesture was very sweet, but he still got hurt. I stood up and held my hand out. “Here,” I said, “let me help you up.”
He grabbed my hand and I used all my effort to get him off the floor. Eventually, he was up and we walked over to his couch. He sat down.
“Do you have ice?” I asked.
“In the freezer.” He responded.
I returned to him with a small bag of ice. I sat next to Louis on his couch and held the ice up to his head. He soon grabbed it and adjusted it to his liking.
