In this universe, from the moment you are born to the moment you first make contact with your soulmate you see in shades of black, white, and grey. The moment you come into contact with your soulmate you will see every color with perfect clarity.
Kiara's P.O.V: 3 years old
Nathan wont share his blocks.
I huff and lunge, reaching for the block in his hand. Before I can grab it, he drops the block and I end up latching onto his hand.
The room exploded with such bright colors.
I scream and throw my hands over my eyes. " MOMMY!!!" I wail, scared by the sudden burst of brightness.
"Kiara, honey, what's wrong? Are you hurt? What happened?" She scoops me into her arms and rocks me while I bury my face into her shoulder. I could hear Nathans mommy asking similar questions, while he whimpered.
"Its so bright." I whisper, squinting my eyes to keep them from burning.
Mommy looked shocked and cast a worried look over to Nathans mommy.
"Nathan do you see the colors too?" mommy asked quietly. I peeked over at him and he nodded, sniffling slightly.
"What's going on mommy? All I did was touch his hand. Is everythinhg going to be okay?" I patted her cheek, worried that I had done something wrong. She smiled down at me and nuzzled my cheek.
"No, you didn't do anything wrong. But me and Nathans mommy have to tell you some important things, okay?" Mommy asked.
I nodded and smiled towards Nathan, everything was okay.
