Marias POV

The soft dough stuck to my arms as I kneaded it, occupying my hands but leaving my mind to wander. My thoughts played over Lula, and the last few months she had spent with us.

It took a while for Lula to warm up to me as she had with Missy. But I remained patient, doing the one thing my mother had told me helped heal all wounds; I fed her and gave her comfort. Always insisting that she could eat a little more, offering hugs whenever she slid into a dark mood.

On more than one occasion one of her men would show up and try to apologize, looking like kicked puppies. Of course, I never let them past the doorway, not until Lula said she was ready to see them again. They left little gifts behind, a teddy bear, a vase of daisies.

We gave her the guest bedroom to stay in for as long as she wished to stay, and in return, she helped keep the house cleaned and the garden maintained. I learned that she wanted to be a nurse, like Izaak, and that she was fascinated by the healing properties of different plants.

I set up a meeting with Izaak so that we could pick up her things at the apartment they had shared, seeing as her mates had taken up residence with the young man. I shook my head in disappointment, he could have at least broached the topic with Lula before betraying her. Though I could see his reasoning behind his choices, it didn't mean he was any less wrong in what he did.

It was a few days later, while I was teaching Lula how to make Paella, that Lula slipped up. I was showing her how to de-vein the shrimp when her knife slipped and she nicked her thumb. it wasn't any major wound, but I made sure to clean and wrap it. "There," I murmured, "all better." She flexed her thumb and gave a small smile. "Thanks, momma." she sighed, almost immediately freezing up as she realized what she said.

My throat tightened, and I patted her shoulder before she could flee. "It's alright, pequeño guerrero, I don't mind if you wish to call me that, I would feel honored." I tried to smile soothingly. She crushed me in a hug before darting out the back door.

I was pulled from my thoughts as Missy and Lula entered the kitchen, arms full of groceries and chatting quietly. "Hola mis queridos, how was the shopping? Did you pick up all the things on the list? I hope you didn't get those god awful wafer cookies again Mimi, they'll rot your teeth." Missy pouted and started unpacking the bags.

"I love them, and no I didn't, Lula said you wouldn't like it if I got them when you told me not too." She blew a raspberry at a sheepish Lula.

"I wanted to ask you something," Lula muttered, playing with the ends of her sleeves, her eyes flickering around the kitchen. I waved for her to continue as I cut the dough into even blobs and put them in separate bowls to rise.

"I was wondering if you would come with me to talk to the guys, I just wanted someone there to..." She trailed off at the end and bit her lip.

I think she wants some form of support. murmured Missy, eyeing the fidgety girl.

I agree, and I will be there for her.

I smiled softly and embraced Lula. "Of course I will join you, those boys wouldn't try anything with me there. Not if they wanted to keep all their bits." I said seriously. Lula giggled and started helping Missy unpack the bags.

I think she's ready to move forward, Missy sighed sadly.

I agree, oh and Mimi, I saw the cookies.

"Fucking hell!"

~Six years later~

Lulas Pov

"Momma, Papa is trying to steal the cookies!" I looked down at the mini clone of Harlan, who clung to my leg as I headed for the front door. "Is he now? What about Luka and Daddy? Are they trying to steal the cookies too?" I asked seriously, trying to keep a smile from forming on my lips.

He nodded his head gravely. "They are, they're also trying to get the brownies." I tsked and knelt to his height. "Since you're here, who's guarding them?" I asked, ruffling his hair. His eyes widened comically and he sped off in the direction of the kitchen.

I chuckled and stood, heading for the door once more to let in our guests. Maria stood on the other side, her daughter clinging to her back like a koala. "I'm so glad you could make it Maria, and I see little Estela has gotten bigger." I pull Maria into a hug, missing the spicy tang that always seemed to accompany her.

"Where's," I was cut off by a large crash, followed by girlish screams and maniacal laughter. "BEGONE TINY DEMON!" Issued from deeper in the house.

I sighed in exasperation. "Never mind. Come in and relax, were only waiting for Izaak to arrive with Kiara." I went to close the door when I heard a door slam followed by the sound of arguing. "I am NOT a girl, I am a mighty warrior capable of destroying worlds!" Growled a minuscule child, followed by the amused sigh of a larger male. "But can't you be a girl and a warrior? Since girls are much stronger than men, after all."

The pair finally came into sight, and they were as different as could be. Izaak was dressed casually in a simple button down and jeans, and Kiara wore... armor?

Kiara spotted me and ran ahead of Izaak. "My fairest Auntie! I have come to reclaim my honor and defeat Ace!" she hefted her toy sword and marched into the house, following the sounds of laughing.

I turned to Izaak and raised an eyebrow questioningly. He raised his hands defensively. "It was the only thing she wanted for her birthday, and I really can't say no to her." I shook my head with a sigh. "Poor Ace." My statement was followed by a battle cry and more girly screaming.

"Come on, we gotta get in there before I no longer have a son." I shut the door as he laughed. "God I just love Sunday dinners at your place." He chuckled, heading towards the kitchen.

I stayed in the foyer, looking at all the pictures that adorned the walls; pictures of me with Asher and Harlan on our honeymoon, Maria and I covered in flour and eggs, Izaak looking majorly pissed off. It was an awesome story; Asher called him while he was at the grocery store acting like he got mugged and was just freaking out. Izaak immediately left a cart full of groceries in the store parking lot to drive and get Asher. Missy ended knocking Asher out cause Izaak was so upset about the cart of groceries, though now we look back and laugh. Although we never did learn what happen to the cart of groceries.

My favorite out of all of them was a giant one with all of us making funny faces.

I finally found my family.

Asher: Took you long enough to realize it.

Harlan: I have to agree, come join our family before Missy tries to bite Asher again.

"STOP BITING ME! I DIDN'T STEAL YOUR COOKIE! AGGGHHHH!!!"

I can't help the laugh that erupts from my chest. I found my family and they're all a bunch of crazies, I'd never trade this for anything.

A/N Another story ends, and I have to thank my soul sister for allowing me to write her uncle into my story. Izaak was a real man, and everything I've heard about him has painted a beautiful picture of an amazing and loving man. Thank you Izaak Jackson for your stories.
