- Third Person -
The red carpet was a daunting and intimidating place for any person, famous or not. For Lux Halloway, she felt a panic attack creep into her chest as she stood side-by-side with her award-nominated boyfriend. The blinding lights flashed brightly as reporters called their names, instructing them to look left and right, this way and that way. As Justin looked down at his stunningly beautiful girlfriend, he refrained a frown at her forced smile.
He pinched her waist from beneath the blue, blouson dress. "You look beautiful, baby."
Peering up from beneath her black coated lashes, she finally let a natural smile grace her soft rose lips. His smile only widened as he leaned forward and kissed her hairline, the reporters madly capturing the tender moment. Lux bit her lip, a rush of blood sprinting to her lightly bronzed cheeks as she giggled beneath her breath. "That's the eighth time you've told me since I got ready."
"You look beautiful - there, now it's nine." He beamed. She laughed, shaking her head and for a split moment, she had forgot about the eyes watching her every move. The couple were guided from the carpet and off to an interview with well-known radio star, Ryan Seacrest. Justin stopped at the podium, glancing up to Ryan who was interviewing the outrageously dress and good friend, Nicki Minaj. He turned to his girlfriend, taking her other hand in his and looking down in concern. "It's your choice if you want to come up with me or not, I'm not forcing you."
"I think I'll just stand here with Kenny, Scooter and Carin." She muttered concernly. "Sorry. I just - I'm not comfortable."
Justin smiles and strokes her cheek. "Don't worry, okay? Just stay here."
He kisses her lips once, twice, three times before wandering up and brotherly hugging Ryan. "Long time no see, Biebs! How have you been?"
"Great, bro'. Great. You?"
"That's great to hear. I've been good too. Now, I see your gorgeous girlfriend standing down there-" Ryan said and Lux blushed. "-does she not want to come up?"
Justin shook his head. "Nah, Lux is one to rather stay away from the limelight. It was a struggle to even get her to agree to walk the carpet with me never mind asking her for an interview. She's much more of a stand-back person." Justin smiled at his breathtaking girlfriend who returned it with a slight giggle.
"Well you look gorgeous tonight, Lux. As always." Ryan complemented. Lux bowed her head and mouthed a silent thank you. "And how's little Bieber doing? How old is she now?"
"She's just turned eight months." Justin breathed with a exceeding grin. "She's doing brilliantly. Crawling, blabbering, drooling. But yeah, she's fantastic, growing more each day which is scary."
"Eight months already? Jezz! That's crazy, it seems like yesterday you were only announcing you were going to become a dad." Ryan chuckled, shaking his head. "And I'm sure she'll be very proud of you when she's old enough to understand the whole award situation and see that her dad is nominated for a millennium award. How's that feel?"
The short interview continued, Justin and Ryan shared another brotherly hug before Justin approached his girlfriend, manager, stylist and bodyguard. With his hand tied with Lux's, they were guided inside the venue and escorted to the reserved seats in the first row. Lux crossed her legs, a feeling of warmth spreading through her veins as Justin lay his callous hand on her creamy thigh.
"I know that I've said this ten million times but you really do look beautiful." He whispered with a smile.
She smiled and giggled giddily, butterflies flapping inside her stomach. "Next topic please. It's your birthday in two days - twenty-three babe." Justin groaned, throwing his head and pouting his lower lip. "Oh c'mon, it's not that bad! You've still got two years to go before you get really old."
