- Lux Halloway -
"Every since I fell pregnant, all I've wanted to do is eat everything. I mean, everything! I absolutely despise shrimp but lately that's all I've been wanting, I can practically smell it!" Ruby huffs as she rubs her bulging twenty-two week belly and leans back into the restaurant chair. "Has this happened to you?"
"Cravings? No. Sickness twenty-four-seven? Most definitely." I muttered as I took a sip of the vitamin water. "It's so ridiculous, I had absolutely no sickness or nausea with Scarlett and now with this baby I'm constantly feeling like I'm going to barf at every waking moment."
Ruby laughs lightly. "That's weird. You've had sickness, I haven't. I've had cravings, you haven't."
"Yeah, pretty creepy." I giggle. "How's Ryan been coping with it all? Have you been chewing his head off with those very famous mood swings?"
"Unfortunately." She mumbles guiltily as she throws the ivory, wrinkled napkin onto her empty plate and replaces her hands atop of her stomach. "The worst part is that everything I say is unintentional. It's just little things that seem to tick me off like if I get up to get a drink, he would say for me to sit and he would go get it, or he were to offer to help me make dinner or something, I would snap at him and tell him that I'm only pregnant and not disabled."
"Ah yes, I know what they feel like." I sympathetically giggle. "Even after I gave birth, my mood swings would still be a problem and I would still snap at Justin for not helping even if he offered and I told him no."
"It sucks."
"Tell me about it."
"Are you and Justin going to find out the sex?" She asks curiously. "Ryan and I've talked about it, he wants to wait and let it be a surprise and truthfully, so do I but the anticipation is already killing us both."
"Yeah, yeah we're going to find out. I mean, we found out with Scarlett and that gave us time to make a nursery and prepare things before she came. I don't think Justin could deal with waiting nine months to know the gender, he's so incredibly impatient anyway, this would literally make him tear his hair out." I laughed. "So I think finding out is the best idea, especially with the new house and everything."
"Oh yeah, how's things coming along?" She asks. "Have you got everything sorted finally?"
"Good, it's mainly just unpacking things that's left to do." I said with a light shrug. "Thankfully the decorators had the place completely decorated the way we wanted, Justin and a few of the guys, plus the men from the furniture company helped ship all the new furniture inside while I pointed orders of where things should go and now there's only clothes and household supplies to put in, y'know, the homely things."
"And when does Justin leave for tour?" She cautiously asked. "Will he be here to help?" I sighed, glancing down to my lap as I stroked the engagement ring secured around my ring finger.
"Tomorrow morning." I mumble quietly, the heavy weight crashing onto my chest. I was dreading tomorrow for weeks, even more when it loomed nearer and nearer. Now less than twenty-four hours to go, I kept my tears at bay. "He won't be here. Five weeks he'll be gone even though his management wanted to expand it longer, he refused. They wanted him to be gone for three, maybe four months."
"But he would be gone over Scarlett's birthday, and your scan." She gasped.
"I know and that's why he told them no. He told them that they should be thankful he's even agreeing to leave for five weeks, but twelve to sixteen weeks was pushing it." I sighed and lightly shrugged. "It should fly in, shouldn't it?"
